POV: Mother of the Groom

Everyone stands to look at the Bride as she is escorted down the aisle by her father, but me, I'm looking at the Groom as his eyes fill with tears of joy and he tries to keep his emotions in check. Watching those emotions play across his face makes the lump in my throat grow larger and my eyes fill up too. Makes me grab Tim's hand so I can at least come close to keeping my emotions in check on our son's special day. This boy, ahem, this man at the end of the aisle waiting for his Bride- I've loved him since before he was born. I've been his sounding board for 21 years, his advocate, his constant and biggest cheerleader. This is the handing off of that baton, when I officially become second in his world, and it gets me right in the feels even though I've watched it coming closer ever since they started dating. He has found his person, of that I have no doubt! So I enjoyed one last private moment with my boy; when everyone else was looking at her I had my eyes fixed on him sending him peace and love to calm his nerves as only his Mama could.
