The vision. The anticipation.

My mind is constantly going, thinking of who will experience the flower farm with us this summer; what will bloom, what set backs will the season bring, did I plant enough of this or that, how am I already running out of room and I forgot to plant xyz, will the rye terminate with those tarps, are the sunflowers going to bloom for sunflower days, should I direct seed or has that burned me in the past and I should start the seedlings in trays, will people come, I need to advertise, what days should we be open, should I do it differently next year, are those red beetles going to kill my lilies, I need to spray them, oh the first blooms, how do I tell more people about the subscriptions that will start mid July, should I have a flower fridge available at Kristin’s for regular purchases there, should I sell at any farmers markets or can I just partner with local business as retail locations so I can focus on the on farm experiences.

Today in the flower field. I’m in awe of the seeds that just want to grow into flowers. As I’m weeding, I’m finding sunflowers, Buplerum, dianthus, celosia and Queen Ann’s lace that have voluntarily grown in the field. This may be no big deal to you…but particularly this Buplerum and dianthus weren’t grown in this area since 2024, so the fact the seeds hung out for this long and now germinated is pretty cool to me.

It’s Time!!!!

It’s time to put these ugly tuber/potato looking things in the ground so we can grow these beauties!!!!

I’m prepping the Dahlia field today with the help of my dad and his tractor so that tomorrow, Saturday the 23rd, we can plant out these beauties!!!!!!

IF you find yourself with an open morning, we will be planting from 8-11. It’s a short window because of everything going on this weekend, but I’m confident we will get these babies in the ground, tucked in and ready to grow!!!

Hello friends!

Fingers crossed 🤞 last night was our last frost which means it’s time to plant the flower field. I have absolutely loved the community that has rallied around this vision of mine, to create a beautiful space for people to gather and enjoy nature. I will be planting and prepping and doing all things flower farming the next 3 Fridays and Saturdays. I welcome the company if you are just curious and I welcome the extra hands if you want to dig in and lay landscape fabric, check drip line, pull weeds or plant things. I pay in conversation, bouquets or cash, whichever you need for your time 💜🫶🏻🌺

Please send me a message if you are coming just so I can be prepared and to make sure I don’t follow my ADHD brain at that moment and decide to run to town for something I probably don’t need but think is important in that moment 🫣🤣
