Welcome to The Hitching Post: A Family’s Dream Venue for Weddings and Events
Welcome to The Hitching Post, where love, family, and a bit of hard work come together to create the perfect setting for your special event. We are a family-owned and operated wedding and event center, created by the Watts family with one mission in mind: to help you celebrate life’s biggest moments in a beautiful, personal setting.
Our Journey
In 2021, Mark and Brenda Watts, parents to four wonderful girls, had an unforgettable year. Within just 30 days, two of their daughters were getting married—an exciting time, to say the least! As they searched for the perfect venue for these life-changing events, they realized they had the resources to make their own dream venue come true.
After considering various options, the Watts family decided to transform a 50x80 pole barn on their property into a one-of-a-kind wedding and event center. It wasn’t easy, but the family put in countless hours cutting lumber, pouring floors, running electricity, and adding all the other small details that would turn their vision into reality.
In July of 2022, the Watts family hosted their first wedding at The Hitching Post. It was an emotional day when their oldest daughter said "I do" in the venue they had worked so hard to create. Just a month later, they hosted another wedding as their third daughter tied the knot on August 4, 2022. It was a whirlwind of joy, love, and celebration—two weddings within 30 days, both at their very own venue!
Now, after years of planning, building, and making countless memories, The Hitching Post is officially opening its doors for weddings and events in 2025! We are so excited to share this space with you, whether you're celebrating a wedding, an anniversary, a birthday, or any other special occasion.
