This wedding hit incredibly close to home. Danielle and I share an intense love for our late Fathers, and I love how she honored hers on her wedding day. She draped her Dad’s denim jacket across a front row seat at the ceremony, along with a few of her favorite photos of him. He might not have been there to walk her down the aisle, but he had the best seat in the house.

Later, Sierra Bonneville Photography included the jacket in her wedding photos, and my favorites are the ones at our Mountain View. The way she looks at her husband, Timothy, you know it’s true love! It always fills my heart with joy seeing love like this.

Now that the wedding is over, I will miss Danielle’s morning texts with bear photos at her cabin, and hearing her talk about the excitement building up to one of the most special days of her life. My favorite story was the one she told me about sitting outside before the wedding as a hummingbird flew right in front of her face, hovering for a few moments before flying away. We are both certain this was a visit from her Daddy.

As Father’s Day approaches, my heart always turns to my Dad. I honor him every single day I set foot on this property, because before Honeysuckle Hills became the wedding venue it is today, this land was HIS. His boots walked these fields, and his spirit is woven into every corner of this place.

For all of you missing your Daddy’s, too, I see you and I feel you! Love never leaves us. It just finds new ways to show up.

Melissa + Bobby

We photographed possibly the sweetest couple of the year on Saturday and we're still giddy about it! Melissa and Bobby (And Lily) were so happy the whole day and I don't think I've heard a baby laugh more in my life. They're enjoying the Smokies this week and we couldn't be happier for them!

Proof that a little rain can't stop a fairy tale love story from coming true!

When the storm clouds rolled in for Destiny and Jay, there was zero panic. Why? Because at Honeysuckle Hills we always have a rain plan!

Their beautiful ceremony took place completely under cover. Cozy, dry, and filled with so much love! Afterward, Sierra Bonneville Photography grabbed some clear umbrellas and explored our covered spots around the venue. The rain actually gave the most romantic, dreamy lighting, and looking at Destiny's smile, you'd think it was nothing but sunshine!

I love how Sierra knows how to match the outdoor light with the lower light in our creekside pavilion so you can see the lush greenery in our gardens (instead of just "white light" around them.)

I also love how Destiny and Jay are truly, effortlessly in sync. They have a special kind of magic that doesn't require you to hear their love story to KNOW it.

Wide open spaces and a love to match!

One of my favorite things about Honeysuckle Hills is how the landscape changes with the seasons, and especially the weather. When the clouds rolled over the ridges on Ashlie and Josh's wedding day, it created the ultimate moody, Western atmosphere for this gorgeous couple!

Josh's cowboy hat transformed him from just a handsome guy in a suit to a modern, romantic gentleman of the West. Ashlie radiated a vibrant, infectious happiness that practically lit up the entire field, completely defying the moody, overcast sky.

THIS is when reality is even better than your dreams!

I get so attached to our wedding couples, and Kayla and Cody are no exception! They toured the venue this past winter to plan their wedding reception, and it felt like a small family reunion. The best part? Whenever I miss them I can look at all these beautiful images by Jessica and Garrett with Nunn Photography!

THIS is a true Adventure Couple. It's "Baby, let's throw on our boots, get married in the mountains, run with some horses, and dance until the stars come out!"

Enchanted Willow Evening Elopements are the most romantic way to get married in the Smoky Mountains in the summer! You might miss out on the Elkmont fireflies, but standing under our willow beneath the sparkling lights and lanterns is a rare kind of magic most people spend a lifetime searching for.

Book any custom elopement package with us and ask for an 8:30pm ceremony at the willow tree. Jessica with captured these magical moments for Kayla and Cody, and she might even be available to capture yours, too!

I go waaaaay back with these two love birds! Melanie and Ricky celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with us at Honeysuckle Hills, beautifully captured by Sierra Bonneville Photography

They traveled from historic Waverly, TN, where Melanie and her mother have a beautiful dress shop called Loyce’s Bridal. I've actually known Melanie's mother, Loyce, much longer. We belonged to the same professional photography organizations decades ago, which is how I met Melanie, who is a talented photographer herself. (AND the sweetest soul.)

THIS is a couple who will walk through fire together and come out the other side unscathed.

Congratulations you two! I'll see you for your 50th, 75th, and 100th wedding anniversaries!
