Having just moved to Phoenix, Phillip Waring answered the church phone for the first time and it was The Arizona Biltmore. The Hotel telephoned a number of nearby churches and none of the clergy would perform a destination wedding for an out of town couple. Phil cheerfully agreed to perform the destination wedding. After the ceremony the wedding coordinator asked Phil to print some business cards and Arizona Ministers was born.

George Burnette pioneered professional wedding photography on a budget with highly creative packages for couples starting in the 1970’s. He was among the first to include the negatives in his packages, giving couples complete control over their printing decisions. The consummate entrepreneur was known for his unique concepts, business integrity and transparency. He was a wonderful husband, father, a photographer’s photographer, and Phil Waring’s best friend. George passed away on May 15, 2026 and is interred at The Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
