I LOVE shooting in the desert with warm golden light and cotton candy sunsets. But if deserts aren’t for you, then I know lots of hidden gems that look nothing like the desert. Classic sessions and senior sessions include your location choice within the Valley, and I’m always happy to help with location and/or outfit ideas. I love all things style so I've got you covered with what to wear and how to get photo-ready!! My goal is to document you, as you really are, in beautiful natural light. Almost sixteen years of watching this girl bloom. 🌼 Every year, we take photos with wildflowers since her birthday is at the beginning of spring. It’s one of my favorite traditions, and I’m so proud of the young woman she’s becoming. Happy almost 16 to my favorite girl. 🌼

Such a full-circle moment getting to photograph my friend’s daughter for her senior session in Sedona 🥹 We dreamed up every detail from the patchwork dress to the warm, romantic vibe of each location, and we had the best time making her vision come to life. Every single image is stunning, and I’m still not over it.

In this set, I was taking pictures of the parents when these boys had the sillies, and I had to document it. I can feel the laughter and joy through the images. This sweet family was a joy to photograph, and it’s always an honor when a family from out of state chooses me to document their time here in the desert.

This is one! 💗 A lot of this session was me chasing after this sweet girl, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. My mama heart was melting! She had the sweetest/most patient parents, and I LOVE that they were happy to get down on her level and play with her during their session. 💕

I never take it for granted when families return year after year, and this sweet family is one of my favorites. Getting to see them grow in front of my camera fills my heart and is a good reminder about why I absolutely LOVE getting to photograph families!

I have the BEST clients! 🥰 I broke my foot a few weeks ago, and when I reached out to my fall clients to see if they wanted to reschedule or keep the session date and have me come on a knee scooter and with an assistant, every client was so kind and gracious, including this sweet family who’s one of my OG’s and has been with me since almost the beginning. Cheers to finally being out of a boot and to clients who feel like family! 🙌

Last year, I took him to see A Christmas Carol at TheaterWorks while his sister was ushering. After the show, he said that he wanted to be in the show next year, and that’s exactly what he did! This was his first production ever, and my mom heart is so proud of him! The final weekend of A Christmas Carol is this weekend, and the talent in the cast has blown me away! Proud mom moment 🥰

As a photographer, I consider it an honor when a family chooses me to photograph their family anytime, and even more so when a family chooses me year after year. This sweet family is so kind and fun, and my favorite sessions are the ones where I leave with my face hurting from smiling and laughing. My heart was full after this session.

Why, hello there. Thanks for stopping by! I'm Cheryl, but call me Cher. I live in the West Valley, near Phoenix, AZ. I'm also a third grade teacher. I didn’t realize until recently how much teaching and photography would overlap. Being an active listener, demonstrating patience, and planning with the end result in mind have helped me as both a teacher and photographer. As a mom to two kids, I know the importance of documenting memories, which we want to hold forever in our hearts. People grow and change, yet photos remain the same. I'm a natural-light photographer, and I specialize in high school seniors/teens, maternity, couples, families, and dancers. I love shooting in the desert with warm golden light and cotton candy sunsets; yet I know lots of hidden gems, which look nothing like the desert, if your prefer.
