New year, same us…. Mostly.

Kind of?

As much as one can ever stay the same over 13 years of life and business and a world that continues to change and evolve and grow.

Everything feels a little scary and unsteady in the world right now. And at the same time, there’s a lot of joy if you choose to seek it out. I hope this space has been and can continue to be a safe little spot to look at beautiful things in the midst of a lot of darkness.

We’ll get through this together ❤️.

I always love peeks into the BTS of projects. The chaos of cut stems, discarded petals, boxes of our expensive/fragile/handle-with-the-most-care blooms gently tucked to the side, wagons full of buckets full of flowers, and us... in the middle of it all. Every time we create an installation for someone's wedding I'm struck by what an insane honor it is to make something that will be the backdrop to a lifetime of memories. And even though it's probably shaved a few years off the end of my life - I love the buzz and pressure of everyone racing to perfect every last detail before your first guest arrives.

Petal it Forward is a nationwide event that celebrates the spirit of generosity. Guests at the event will be gifted two bouquets and we ask that you give one to an unsuspecting stranger ❤️.

A moment for one of our favorite fall bouquets of all time. LOCAL dahlia, zinnia, and hanging amaranthus from were the stars of the show here. Locally grown flowers are to florists what film photography is to photographers lol. Can most people outside our industry tell the difference? Maybe, maybe not. But I SWEAR they come with extra magic in them.

Our industry is extremely wasteful. And the relationship between luxury (and ultra luxury) weddings and waste is a marriage in and of itself.

This tablescape was an after-thought at a styled shoot we did years ago but it's always stuck out to me because we scrapped our original centerpiece idea. On the way to the shoot, I found this beautiful, sculptural branch and fell in love with the motion of it. To round it out, the table was dressed simply with an abundance of candles, earth from the venue, and a simple muted runner.

Luxury is about intentionality and creating an experience with consideration. It is 100% possible to have a chic, high-end wedding day without filling up the landfill afterwards.

Something I’ve always loved to do is reimagine more standard floral elements in a way that feels elevated and interesting.

Green trick dianthus is a regular in grocery stores and funeral work but when paired with eremerus, yellow bougainvillea, and echinacea pods it becomes something completely new.
