Today, we recognize the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice so we can continue doing the things we love. This day should never be about planning a party or a bbq without thinking about WHY we are here in the first place. VG's BBQ will always recognize the importance of this day and looks forward to the day we become big enough to pay it back to the troops. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to all of the service members that gave this beautiful nation everything, and to everyone in active service. We wouldn't be here without you β€οΈπŸ«‘πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²

With that being said, enjoy some pictures I took of this weekend's cook. We are getting closer and closer to opening to the public 😊

2 briskets, 2 racks of beef ribs, 5 pork shoulders, 6 racks of spareribs, man n cheese (kids got to it before I could picture πŸ˜…), and beans. It was a successful day of experimentation and took a step forward in perfecting recipes!

First cook on the new trailer rig. Extremely happy with the way it ran. About 100 jalapeno cheddar sausages. The time and effort put into making these is extremely worth it! Still some learning to get done with the new pit, but more than happy with the results! Smoke on!

Good rib experiment tonight. 3 total racks. 2 salt and pepper with my normal glaze. 1 salt and pepper with a hot honey glaze. All smoked over applewood. First 2 pictures are traditional and the last 2 are the hot honey. Let's just say I may switch to this hot honey glaze! 😳
