Let’s toast to a humble, heartfelt goodbye and a joyous, beautiful hello!
Over the last 3 years, the saying “when you’re tired, rest, don’t quit” became my mantra when my passion and dedication to Vaux began to waiver.
Vaux slowly morphed from a joyful pursuit into more of an obligation. Initially, I leaned into the ‘rest’ by blocking special dates & birthdays, then eventually taking off entire summers. As my boys grew – and as I welcomed another child during my time at Vaux – the struggle to balance family life with the demands of the wedding industry became increasingly difficult.
The guilt of missing out in my children’s lives made it harder to fully dedicate myself to my clients, creating an exhausting cycle for myself, and it was not the atmosphere I wanted to create for my couples.
Last year, I made the difficult but necessary decision to close Vaux. At the time, it felt bittersweet – a final, decisive chapter, but as the closure approached, a profound sense of relief washed over me. Chanel and I had initially planned to continue wedding and event design after Vaux’s closure but as we navigated our final year, my resolve to leave the wedding industry only strengthened. For Chanel, however, the ending held a different, less positive connotation. As our feelings about the closure differed, Chanel decided that Vaux is where she belonged.
With a heart full of joy and gratitude, I announce the exciting transition of Vaux Studio into the capable and caring hands of Chanel! This marks not only the closing of one chapter for myself, but the vibrant beginning of a new chapter for Chanel. I’m thrilled to pass the torch to her, a woman who embodies the spirit of Vaux Studio—a truly remarkable partner and, most meaningfully, a former bride whose own wedding day was celebrated here. Her personal connection to Vaux Studio, coupled with her unwavering reliability and dedication, ensures a seamless and beautiful continuation of our legacy of creating unforgettable memories for countless couples to come.
