October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month and the theme is celebrating value and talent. Our employees with developmental disabilities are the cornerstone of the Cafe. Each employee, through our training program, finds the things that they enjoy and then are challenged to branch out to master new skills. It is bittersweet when they move on to other jobs but we know this must happen so they can continue to grow.
To support the work done at the cafe, we have created a Tree of Thanks and Pumpkin Patch where you can purchase a leaf ($1) or a pumpkin ($5).
