Open to the public. One of the oldest and largest of the German-American clubs in Philadelphia, the Cannstatter Volksfest-Verein was founded in 1873 for the purpose of celebrating the customs and traditions of their homeland, especially the annual harvest festival held in the town of Bad Cannstatt. The annual Fest held on Labor Day weekend draws thousands of people, both German-Americans and others, to observe and participate in this colorful, ethnic event.

This weekend is also the G.T.V. Almrausch 100th Anniversary Celebration, so there will be several hundred trachtlers from across the United States, Canada, and even a few from Germany enjoying the Biergarten on Friday!
