The last few weeks have been incredible. This year has been nonstop between shows, planning and preparing for and everything that comes with it but every year Iām reminded that itās all worth it.
We were tested on a lot of levels this year, especially with the weather. But the crazy part isā¦ nobody cared! If anything, it brought us even closer. We ate together. We had some of the most incredible jam sessions. The conversations were amazing. We danced, laughed and partied together every day.
Iāve been in this business for a long time and I can tell you firsthand, itās difficult to do this alone. Playlist has always been about bringing people together. Thank you to all of our partners for understanding the power of togetherness. Thank you to the entire Playlist community, not just everyone who joined us this year, but every Playlist alumni who continues to keep this spirit alive through inspiration, motivation and collaboration.
Iāve been through a lot over the past few years, but Iām always reminded to keep going because this is bigger than me. This is about us. Thank you to my wife, Lynette C. Townes for caring about every single detail from start to finish. Thank you to my incredible team for putting so much into making sure everyone feels taken care of from the moment they arrive until the moment they leave and thank you to Chef Robert & Out Of The Ordinary Catering for keeping us well fed the entire time. At this stage in my journey, I only want to do three thingsā¦
I want to talk about music.
I want to make music.
I want to play music.
Thatās it.
