🔻Cassandra + Olivia 🔻 Last year, I had the absolute joy of designing florals for Olivia and Cassandra’s wedding...a celebration that was nothing short of unforgettable! Their love, their trust in me, and their radiant generosity filled every moment with soul. After the wedding, they sent me the most heartfelt note, one I’ll treasure forever.

🔻 I moved to Philly in 2012 thinking I could stay soft all the time. 🔻

And I tried. For years.

But this city will chew you up if you don’t know how to say NO with your whole chest.

Only now—more than a decade in—am I learning to hold my boundaries high.

Not because I don’t love people. But because I do. I just can’t pour from an empty cup. And before I knew better, I’d give my last cup to anyone who asked.

This business, this art, this self-employed floral rebellion of mine comes from a tender place.

But I built it in Philly, so you can bet it’s got a backbone. You can bet I’ve earned my place here, navigating unchecked power, human potholes, and more than a few scammy business deals.

This work is radically gentle—
but not for the taking.

I’m not as soft as I used to be.
But I’m stronger.
Stranger. Queerer.
And still blooming and reseeding with purpose.

🔻 Pricing 🔻 The Capitalism has, and is, Capitalism-ing in a totalizing way for most of us in 2025. I've been feeling the stress and the plague on a personal level, and I understand the need for clarity around the new and climbing costs of, what feels like, nearly everything in this life.

In this post, I'm going to give you an example of a general cost breakdown for flowers for afternoon birthday brunch:

= $540 TOTAL (tax included)

This order falls into the category of premium event work where I spend time coming up with something original and customized for the customer and/or their loved ones. I can try to accommodate last-minute event orders, but I definitely prefer pre-orders in advance of your event date -- the earlier, the better! Hello! I’m Kristin, the owner and sole designer of FLOWER SHOP!!! My pronouns are she/they. I got my start in the high end floral industry in 2005, when my first job after art school was working as a floral delivery driver. Designing with flowers has transformed my life and I am a firm believer in their life force. I feel a great sense of meaning from sharing that, and my artistry, with my neighbors in West Philly and beyond. As a q***r entrepreneur, I hope to actively make more space for more womenfolk and q***r owned businesses in this industry and in general.
