Aunt Amy's Kitchen Specialty cakes, cupcakes, cake pops/balls, cookies, hot cocoa bombs, sweet tables, mini desserts

I am a small, independent home baker whose basic ingredient for everything coming out of my kitchen is LOVE! I love to cook for a crowd because the dividends of a job well done really pushes my "love button", which makes me work harder on each and every job. I love watching the faces and hearing the comments of my clients almost to the point of addiction. In my book, there is nothing better than

giving and getting love from the heart, and for me it solidifies my philosophy: "The way to get to a person's heart is through their stomach" I utilize all of the recipes and cooking skills that I learned from my grandmother and my mom, as well as being self-taught on so many levels, learning as much as I can as I move along. I honed my craft by teaching high school culinary arts for 17 years. Now that I am retired, this new venture keeps me active & happy because I get to experiment with all sorts of new, delicious recipes. Everything I do is custom made to make each event special in every way possible. Because I am the sole employee, it is vital that you book your event well in advance because I will never double book myself for any reason. Quality is paramount to my success, so I will work hard to ensure that everything is produced with the highest standards possible.

Big birthday party for a couple of adorable cutie pie siblings today; Hudson (3) & Reese (5). ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸŽ‚

Hudson's theme was the ice cream truck & Reese wanted unicorns & rainbows. Hudson's cake was a four layer double chocolate cake with peanut butter icing, Reese's cake was a three layered scallop shaped ๏ฟผfunfrtti cake with a strawberry cheesecake mousse filling, and Italian Swiss meringue for the outside coating.

As always, thanks to their mom, Lyndsay, for trusting me to pull their themes together. I even made bubblegum flavored meringue treats to adorn each cake, so Hudson's treats were on top of his ice cream cones at each corner & he had other ice cream treats made out of white chocolate on the sides of the cake and Reese's unicorn had all sorts of bubblegum meringues around it, as well as the treat pops, & white chocolate unicorn horn and ears sticking out . ๏ฟผ

It's time for the annual Corble Builders end of summer party, which I always love because they are part of my R&D team ever since they started letting me experiment new recipes on them a few years ago. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

That being said, there is a MAJOR YUM alert on a new taste treat; the Raspberry, Peach, Blueberry Mousse Cups. Scrumptious doesn't even cover this one, it's that good. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Just think of the possibilities going forward!

Thanks to Bill & Laura Bath for always trusting me & for continuing to be Aunt Amy's best clients! ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๏ฟผ

COOKIE ALERT!

I know it's REALLY early , but now that the temps are getting cooler, my brain is speeding towards our glorious holiday winter scenes. I am in search of some iconic images that say "Petoskey " without saying a word. Images sent to those far away who would know that they "are home" when they see them. Examples like the decked out winter gazebo in the park. The street lamps with the the wreaths & a gentle snowfall . Kind of a Norman Rockwell holiday look for a small town with Petoskey as the star. I'm hoping to plan something extra special for this holiday season, highlighting our hometown. So, if you would love to share some magical holiday pictures of our beautiful town, I would love to see them!

I forgot to mention that I will be making COOKIES, yes cookies from these images. I am hoping to make a series of hometown images all out of cookie dough like this, that are unmistakably Petoskey. This is actually the gazebo in the park. I would also bring my custom hot cocoa bombs to make the treat complete.

ALSO, if anyone can please direct me to anyone in charge of securing vendors for any of the Petoskey holiday community events so I can start submitting applications, I would appreciate it!

* Please feel free to share in case any of the local businesses might take me in to set up a table if the city says I cannot do it out in the cold. ๐Ÿฅถโ„๏ธ

Happy 90th Birthday wishes going out to Mr. Ron Clark today! My cousin, Kimmie, hired me to help make his surprise party memorable with the following requests being represented: His two classic cars, his bowling prowess as he has achieved several 300 games & his love of playing Euchre. These are orange creamsicle flavored sugar cookies. I also provided mini lemon blueberry cupcakes.

My first PYO (paint your own) cookie set. All 100 were hand drawn. The cookies are orange creamsicle flavored, as well as the colored paint pallet dots.

Where to begin on this Turano/Gerard wedding as it was a three day event, starting on Thursday with a seafood boil at the Gerard house. I provided coordinating cookies for the festivities.

Day two involved a welcome reception at Bay Harbor Yacht Club. I provided cherry flavored Michigan welcome cookies that had the weekends's itinerary which was included on a separate card backing the cookie.

Then the big day for Lauren and Matthew took place at Walloon Lake Country Club.

I have to say that this was certainly my most ambitious, creative, and fun wedding that I have ever worked on. It certainly helped that the entire Gerard family is so wonderful ! ๏ฟผ I certainly wish Lauren and Matthew years and years of love, fun and adventure! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’

I will put a description of each item under their respective photos, which there are a lot of!๏ฟผ

It's a gorgeous night for a rustic wedding at Lavender Hill Farm for Thaddeus Pall & Faith Spivey. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’

I was only in charge of the wedding cake, which is a lemon cake with a raspberry cheesecake mousse filling & lemon cream cheese buttercream.

As with all of my couples, they let me do my thing. ๐Ÿ˜ŠThey provided the miniature bride & groom that they got from Spain & I constructed the floral arch for them to stand under. Wild flowers were the theme so I used edible ones to adorn the cake.

First, I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to everyone for giving me the grace & space I needed to be with my mom during her final stages of life. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’

She passed very peacefully on July 16 & I am more than confident that she is now having a wild time playing poker with the rest of her family in Heaven. ๐Ÿ˜‡

Her last request was for me to make the employees & residents at The Brook some special decorated lemon sugar cookies as well as some oatmeal raisin pecan cookies for each of her bingo pals.

These are the cookies that will be going out to them this week.

YEP! If I ran the world, we would start with dessert first.
