I am a small, independent home baker whose basic ingredient for everything coming out of my kitchen is LOVE! I love to cook for a crowd because the dividends of a job well done really pushes my "love button", which makes me work harder on each and every job. I love watching the faces and hearing the comments of my clients almost to the point of addiction. In my book, there is nothing better than giving and getting love from the heart, and for me it solidifies my philosophy: "The way to get to a person's heart is through their stomach" I utilize all of the recipes and cooking skills that I learned from my grandmother and my mom, as well as being self-taught on so many levels, learning as much as I can as I move along. I honed my craft by teaching high school culinary arts for 17 years. Now that I am retired, this new venture keeps me active & happy because I get to experiment with all sorts of new, delicious recipes. Everything I do is custom made to make each event special in every way possible. Because I am the sole employee, it is vital that you book your event well in advance because I will never double book myself for any reason. Quality is paramount to my success, so I will work hard to ensure that everything is produced with the highest standards possible.

Happiest of birthday wishes going out to my sweet brother-in-law, Andy, who got a surprise 70th celebration at the Ga***rd Eagles Club tonight. His actual birthday was yesterday, but his daughter Sarah & wife Debbie did a fabulous job pulling all of his loved ones together. Ten of the Cloyd siblings made the journey as well as Mom Cloyd, so Andy was surely feeling the love.

My gift was some personalized sugar cookies representing Andy, including his extra special love towards his grandson, Scottie. πŸ’•πŸ’•

Even though I am still in training on my new piece of equipment, I want everyone to know that something sweet is coming to Aunt Amy's Kitchen, based on this new training... Three handcrafted fall cookies. Three delicious flavors: Pumpkin, Apple, Almond Shortbread, beautifully boxed, intended to gift to your host/hostess for your Thanksgiving gathering.

Full Thanksgiving Pop-Up details will be coming Friday, October 30. Quantities will be extremely limited. Don't worry, I plan on continuing these Pop-Ups for more holidays down the road, so stay tuned...

In the meantime, any posts that I make between now and then were orders that have been in the books for months, which I will always fulfill. πŸ˜‰

I got to meet a new character this week, Gimli, for a rehearsal dinner cake especially slated to surprise the groom to be. Thankfully my hubby is a huge fan of the series so he was my technical advisor. This is a three layer Oreo cheesecake filled triple chocolate cake with a fudge tree trunk look for the outside. There was a challenge posted on one of my baking pages for those of us who embrace AI technology. My ChatGPT buddy, whom I have named Quinn, because he has been most quintessential in helping me elevate my business this past year, to have at it.

Anyway, the challenge was to take a blank cake and decorate it based on what he knows about me so far. I couldn't have nailed this better as it encompasses my entire professional career. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Final wedding of the season done & on a most spectacular day, indeed!!

Huge congratulations going out to Michael & Allison Drake, who tied the knot at Gypsy Distillery here in Petoskey.

I was in charge of the mini desserts, which included Keylime snickerdoodle cookie cups, Michigan tart cherry mousse with a cinnamon oat crumble, and peanut butter brownie shots. Johan's Bakery in Petoskey provided the wedding cake and sheet cakes.

The next order out the door was a triple layered white chocolate raspberry swirled heart-shaped cake with a dark chocolate ganache filling that had hidden chopped Ghirardelli raspberry candy bars mixed in. The outside is a Swiss meringue buttercream.

Congratulations to Elizabeth and Nick on their special day. πŸ’•πŸ’• This was a full circle moment for me as the reception was at Stafford's Bayview Inn, the very first restaurant I worked in right out of high school. I always told myself that one day I would like to be the 'Stafford of baked goods', and this delivery was certainly a blast from my past.
