As I read about Fireworks Restaurant in Keene closing its doors, following two others that have recently closed, I'm reminded of the vital role our local restaurants play in our community. It's heartbreaking to see them struggle, especially when we know how hard they're working to stay afloat. With costs rising, it's getting tougher for them to keep their heads above water. Employee shortages make it even more difficult. Many owners are putting everything on the line, working long hours without pay, to keep their businesses alive. Some are even absorbing the increased costs themselves, rather than passing them on to customers. It's a testament to their dedication and commitment to our community. As a business owner myself, I'm incredibly grateful for the support of our customers.
All of that being said, I sadly need to share a reminder to our customers that we have cameras installed as noted on the front door and in several places throughout the store. Including at the salad bar.
Working long hard hours, literally putting blood sweat and tears into this business, it’s quite disheartening to see someone come in and take product without paying for it. This is not the first time this has happened.
Especially in these times of uncertainty, this breaks my heart. We give back so much to the community. We are generous with our customers. We are kind. We are caring. We are appreciative of each and every one of you. Please. Don’t steal from us. Don’t steal from anyone.
We are currently gearing up to donate all of the food for this weekend’s glo golf fundraising event for the Peterborough Fire Department. We are donating both the food and our time to make it. And we are thrilled to be able to do so! This was not anything I intended to make public - we do a lot of quiet donating - but I want people to understand - when you steal from us you are not just hurting us, you are effecting what we are able to give back to our community which is incredibly important to us.
Please. Your actions matter. theft can have a devastating impact on businesses. It's not just about the financial loss; it's also about the trust and faith we have in our customers. It’s about doing the right thing even when you think no one is watching.
