It’s my birthday week, and Sunday I turn 45.

45 feels less like getting older and more like knowing myself better. So here are 45 things I know now:

1. Life’s too short to save the good wine
2. Celebrate the little things, they become the big things
3. Your reputation matters
4. Kindness and high standards can coexist
5. You can be warm, fun AND good at what you do
6. Trust your gut
7. Not every opportunity is your opportunity
8. The right clients are worth waiting for
9. Relationships beat transactions
10. People remember how you made them feel
11. Luxury isn’t about having more, it’s about intention
12. The best celebrations feel personal
13. Details matter. People matter more
14. Always have a Plan B
15. And probably a Plan C😉
16. Experience teaches what textbooks can’t
17. You don’t have to say yes just cause you can
18. Protect your time

To the entire team, thank you. Thank you for the incredible chef Palmer dinners, for the warmth and care in every detail, for the tours, the spa, and the way you made us feel so completely at home. Your hospitality is a masterclass in making people feel seen and celebrated.

And a very special thank you to Yamona for putting all of this together, for bringing all of us together, and for taking such good care of all of us. You made everything seamless and so special.

We spent two unforgettable days connecting with fellow industry professionals in a way that felt relaxed, genuine, and deeply meaningful. When Napa fires forced an evacuation of the original proposal location, we had just five hours to completely reimagine the experience.
Five hours to secure a new luxury setting. Five hours to redesign the details. Five hours to protect the surprise and make sure the moment still felt exactly as it was meant to.
Behind the scenes, there was a lot happening. But when they arrived at Brion Winery, all they saw was a beautiful, intentional moment created just for them. ✨
