To Embrace What Matters
is what I have been purposed to do.
What my heart has been entrusted with
to encourage in others as well.
As I walk, God faithfully shines the light on my steps.
To open a flower shop
with no experience as a business owner
with no experience as a florist
To become a mother
with no idea the energy it takes to run a business and be pregnant
with no idea the energy it takes to run a business and have a baby
Or two babies.
Or three babies.
Or four.
To buy a building and renovate it
with not enough funds
or time
or strength
or skill
of our own.
To fulfill what weddings and events
were booked
before known pregnancies and births
before known loss of employees
before known timelines of moving
and now to sell a business and building we’ve poured our hearts into
without knowing who will buy
without knowing what our timeline is
and without knowing the very next steps.
One thing I CAN tell you though
is this:
every
single
unknown
My God provided exactly what I needed
before I ever even knew
the need was there.
Where God guides,
He surely provides.
Today marks 8 years for the flower shop.
8 years of many tears and hard work
8 years of inexpressible joy and blessing
8 years of seeing God move mountains and supply water in the driest of places.
8 years of creativity and community.
8 years of meeting beautiful people and being a recipient of their kindness.
8 years of bringing comfort to those grieving and being allowed to share light on those in the darkest of places.
To embrace what matters
is what I’m called to
and God has directed my next steps.
We’ve been so blessed
to be a part of creating something so beautiful.
A flourishing flower shop
A community of kindness
A space that’s nurturing for all who enter
I don’t know my timeline,
I don’t know who it’s for,
but I do feel we’ve poured and poured into something much bigger than ourselves@
something that has been prepared for someone else.
Garrett and I will be selling our building and I will be selling the flower shop.
I have been feeling the shift to be with my sweet babies
and now that it’s clear where my next step is
I am ready to embrace what matters.
I don’t know how quickly things will fall into place,
but I have no doubt they certainly will.
My heart overflows with gratitude for each and every one of you whom I have had the pleasure to meet
and get to know
and receive kindness, encouragement, and love from.
I will keep you updated as things become clearer.
As of right now, I will continue to pour love and joy into my current commitments,
and if you’re the someone who may be being called into my place,
don’t hesitate to reach out.
With so much love I can hardly bear it,
Lillian
P.S.
I came across this print yesterday made by an artist in STL, and it felt like my farewell embrace to the flower shop made into a piece of art perfectly. God’s timing really is perfect. 💚
