A little BTS of Hitch + Revel becoming increasingly unhinged in the best possible way.

The showroom upgrade is officially underway, and apparently our design brief is Space Cowgirl Disco meets Party Girl Hoarder With Access to Power Tools. Hot pink fringe. Disco ball reflections everywhere. Absolutely no interest in behaving like a normal rental showroom.

Is it finished? No.
Is there currently enough metallic fringe on the floor to clog the Shop-Vac Kate stole from her husband until 2027? Absolutely.

But she’s getting there. ✨

We want this space to feel like us the second you walk through the door — colorful, unexpected, a little ridiculous, and full of things that make you want to throw a party immediately.

Consider this your reminder that Hitch + Revel is not beige. 🪩✨🤠

Things nobody tells you about wedding day: filling the water goblets will somehow take 400 years 🤯

One of the sneakiest little event-day time sucks is getting water on the tables. It sounds like a 15-minute job until you’re 45 minutes deep, you’re sweating, your hair is frizzing, guests arrive in 20 minutes and OH MY GOD WHY IS THIS SINK SO SLOW?!

This may sound dramatic… but it will not sound dramatic when you’re cursing a faucet in your local VFW kitchen and your dad has taken off his suit jacket to help — which is now absolutely going to be wrinkled in every family photo.

Kate has filled enough goblets to have OPINIONS, so here’s the Hitch + Revel method:

💧 Buy gallon jugs of water. Plan on TWO gallons per person helping fill glasses so nobody is constantly running back to the sink.

💧 One gallon fills roughly 25 goblets if you’re pouring about 5 oz. per glass. Do the math ahead of time and have everything ready to roll.

💧 Reusing gallon jugs or containers? Fill them the night before. Event day is not the day to discover that filling 12 gallons from a sink also takes approximately forever.

💧 No staff? Delegate strategically. Your godmother. Your BFF’s mom. Your aunt who keeps asking what she can do… THIS IS HER MOMENT.

Give each helper responsibility for about five tables instead of sending everyone wandering around filling random glasses. And make water duty your final table check while you’re at it.

As they fill each table, they can:
✨ Turn on candles + table lights
✨ Make sure all the flatware is straight and aligned
✨ Check that table numbers are set and facing the right direction
✨ Rescue any napkins that have somehow already ended up on the floor
✨ Straighten chairs and place settings
✨ Catch all those tiny things that looked perfect an hour ago but have mysteriously shifted since

One person. Five tables. Water filled, candles on, everything straight, final check DONE.

⏱️ Budget about 7–8 minutes per table to fill water, turn everything on and give the whole table that last once-over before guests walk in.

That means one person tackling 15–20 tables alone can easily lose an hour+ to something nobody even remembered to put on the timeline.

The glamorous world of event design: beautiful tablescapes, candlelight, florals… and Kate pouring 147 glasses of water at record speed while developing a personal vendetta against commercial plumbing. 🪩✨

Save this one for wedding week. Your future self — and your dad’s suit jacket — will thank you.

🪩✨ FIRST OPEN HOUSE OF FALL: DONE. ✨🪩

And apparently we decided to open the season with a BANG. 💖

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to hang with us today, browse the showroom, talk weddings + parties, shop, sip, snack and see what Hitch + Revel is all about. Y’all kept us BUSY — which is exactly how we like it.

So busy, in fact, that we had entirely too much fun and forgot to capture basically any content. Typical. We’ll make the appropriate sacrifices to the algorithm gods later. 🫡 😮‍💨

And an extra big thank you to our incredible vendor friends who showed up and made the day even better. Good people, good stuff, good parties — basically our favorite combination.

We’re officially calling Open House #1 of the fall season a SUCCESS. 🥂✨

Missed this one? Don’t worry, party people. We’ll be doing it all over again in October — date coming VERY soon. 👀🪩

“Event design seems like such a fun, glamorous job!” 🪩✨

Oh, absolutely. It’s all pretty tablescapes, ch*****ne, vintage treasures, and playing with flowers.

And definitely NOT me 10 feet up a ladder vacuuming windows with a shop vac, narrowly avoiding being taken out by said shop vac when it decides to launch itself directly at my face 😅✨🪩

The glamorous truth: a shocking amount of event design is cleaning, hauling, climbing ladders, moving furniture, fixing weird sh*t, making 400 tiny adjustments no one will ever notice, and generally risking bodily harm in the name of the vibe.

BUT — she’s getting pretty 💅🪩

We’re deep in Open House prep over here, which means every window, rental, table and weird little corner of Hitch + Revel is getting the treatment before we throw the doors open THIS SUNDAY, September 27 from 11–2!
