There’s something special about hearing the story of how a family began and then getting to capture the life they’ve built since. 🤎
It was truly an honor to photograph another photographer’s sweet family. I’m always grateful to be entrusted with your memories and to preserve these seasons of life. The privilege of it is never lost on me. 🥲

This summer felt heavy in a lot of ways. As a family, we walked through trials. Fall felt like a deep breath that I needed so badly. It felt hopeful. Each morning when I felt the crisp air, I thought to myself, “I can’t wait for summer to be over”. And then God gave us a flower field in September. A flower field that has never popped up in our yard before. And I realized that I was wishing away a season that God had made. I was no longer noticing the beauty of it. I was no longer feeling thankful for the long days and the gorgeous sunsets. I was wishing away both the refining of this season and the glory of it. And God gave me another opportunity to see the beauty of summer and to praise Him for it.

“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!” Psalm 118:24

One of my favorite things about photography is getting to see different chapters of people’s lives. How they grow, how they change, and how they stay the same.

I was friends with Vaughn in high school, and now, years later, I get to capture him with his beautiful wife & kids, running through a field of Queen Anne’s lace.

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of that.
