🎉 The tent has arrived! 🎉

It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come since we broke ground. We are thrilled to share that the tent has officially been delivered! 💚💛

This is a HUGE milestone for Corn Stock Theatre and an exciting step toward creating a space that will serve our community for years to come. Seeing the tent arrive makes this project feel more real than ever! Over the next few weeks we will finish concrete work and then the tent will be going up!

While the tent is here, there’s still work to be done to bring this project across the finish line. We need your help! Every donation, no matter the size, helps support the construction and creation of this new tent for Corn Stock Theatre.

Calling all cast, crew, patrons, directors, board members and volunteers big and small! RECO & RECO Jr. are a celebration of our full 2026 season. Table registration opens October 13th... so make sure you buy your ticket before then so you can make sure you get to sit with your friends!

RECO a celebration of our full 2026 season (January - November). We will also include Frankenstein is this years celebration! Awards will be given, financials will be reviewed and so much fun will be had. This event is open for anyone to attend!

Fall is upon us... which means it is time for A Christmas Carol auditions. This year's Director Paula Graves would like to invite you to come audition! No sign up required!

This Charles Dickens’ classic tale follows the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited on Christmas Eve by the ghost of his former business partner and three spirits representing Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. Through these supernatural encounters, Scrooge is forced to confront the impact of his greed and isolation, ultimately transforming into a kinder, more generous man. A timeless story of redemption, compassion, and the true spirit of Christmas.

Another great supporter and volunteer of our theatre community gone too soon, Mike Hamilton. Our love, support and condolences go out to Mike's wife Peggy, son Brian and daughter Megan Manley. Their family has been a huge part of Corn Stock Theatre and community theatre as a whole.

Mike was involved in community theatre all around the Peoria area. He ran sound for several Corn Stock Productions. Some of those were The Boyfriend (2001), Cabaret (2002), Jesus Christ Superstar (2003), Tommy (2005), and Singing in the Rain (2008).

There will be a memorial service on October 17 at Dieters in Washington from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

📣2028 DIRECTOR SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN! 📣
We are opening submissions for all 2028 series (Lab Studio, Tent Main Stage, Corn Stock for Kids, A Christmas Carol (Fundraising Show)). Not wanting to direct? You can also give a show selection on the form below!

The 2028 Season is extra special, because it will be our 75th Season of Corn Stock Theatre!

Show submissions are taken from October 1st through December 31st.

GOT QUESTIONS? We have answers!

Why are submissions open so early this year? In an effort to make our year more cohesive and fit with the fiscal year, we have moved to a January - December Season.

Will shows still be in the tent in the summer? Well of course! January - April & September - December will still be Lab Studio Series & Corn Stock for Kids shows. May - August will continue to be Tent Main Stage shows.

What if I'm not ready to submit? The good news, our 2027 Committee will not begin reviewing submissions until January 2027. Which means you have until December 31st to submit. In fact, take your time, the more details you have about your submission - the better!

Can I submit a musical for the Lab Studio Series? Absolutely, we welcome that! When choosing what space might be best for the show you wish to submit, be mindful of the needs of that show and what space can best accommodate. We also encourage you to be open minded about what show could work in what space!

Thank you for those that choose to submit. In January, our committee will begin reviewing all submissions and reaching out in the first quarter of 2027 with further questions or with the status of your submission.

DIRECTOR 101: SESSION 1... THIS SATURDAY!
Director Submission & The Role of the Director

Instructors: Sagan Drake & Bridget Nowicki
Saturday, October 3rd at 1:00p
Location: Theatre Center, Basement Large Room

Our first session will focus on Director Submission and the Role of a Director. One of the current Selection Chairs, Sagan Drake, will walk through submission timelines, each theatre space, what selection looks for, what makes a good proposal and spend some time answering questions. Then Bridget Nowicki will break down the role of a director. She will talk about responsibilities, research, vision, and leadership.

Sagan Drake has served on the Corn Stock Theatre Board of Directors since 2025 and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Selection Committee. She holds a degree in Acting, where her training included graduate-level coursework in directing and script analysis. An active performer and volunteer in the local theatre community, Sagan brings both an artistic and organizational perspective to Corn Stock and its productions.

Bridget Nowicki (she/her) is a theatre educator and practitioner whose work spans secondary, collegiate, and community settings. She spent nearly a decade teaching curricular and extracurricular high school drama in the Chicago area, where she was active with the Illinois Theatre Association and earned her National Board Certification. She then returned to school to do her MA/PhD, going on to teach at Indiana University, Illinois Wesleyan University, and Illinois State University. This August she became the new theatre teaching chair at Illinois Central College where she will be teaching and directing. Bridget is active in the central Illinois community theatre scene as an actor, director, and dramaturg. She is a proud member of the Board of Directors for the Illinois Theatre Association.

Whether you have been a director or never directed, this will be a helpful session to dive into what it takes and where to start.
