Shrimp & Alligator Sausage Gumbo coming in hot! The Cajun Shootout Gumbo Cook-off is this weekend. Instead of competing this year, we're gonna make you a big pot of the Gumbo we rode to what we like to call... a 3rd Place Win last year. It should be ready by 11am Saturday and if there's any left we'll have it Sunday too. Sure, it looks like a couple of Butternut Squash, but it's really a sign that it's Labor Day Weekend, and that means a return to Decadence! We get asked at every market, "Do you have a restaurant?" The answer is no, or maybe, not yet. We work out of Pensacola Cooks Commissary Kitchen on the Westside of town. We get all the licensing and inspections that restaurants get, but then we hit the streets and either cater events or sell directly to you at farmers' markets. While you're at it, check out this great cooking class next week...Cajun Tailgating. We might sneak in just to do a taste test!

It's Market Day! Can you feel the excitement in the air? Or is that humidity? Anyway, we'll be in our trusty 35 spot in the relaxed atmosphere of Ferdinand Plaza. Fresh Green Tomato Relish this week and some fancy Cheese Puffs too... and, of course, Gumbo, Jambalaya, and Gator Dogs 9am-2pm
