✨ A little PSA from your local marquee girl… not all marquee letters are created equal. 🫣
I’ve tiptoed around this topic for a long time and have never really spoken about it publicly. But after doing this for years, I feel like I owe it to you to share what I’ve seen… because I’d much rather you know BEFORE your event than be disappointed when it’s too late to fix it.
I totally understand the temptation to hop online, find a set of letters for less than the cost of renting, and think, “Why wouldn’t I just buy them?”
And sometimes, that may work perfectly for what you need!
BUT… if those letters are going to be a focal point of your event, PLEASE order them early, assemble them and see what they actually look like before event day. 👏🏼
Over the years, I’ve had people reach out to me last minute in a panic because the letters they purchased online weren’t quite what they expected once they arrived and were put together.
Because when it comes to marquee letters…
Size matters.
Brightness matters.
Stability matters.
Quality matters.
And how they actually photograph REALLY matters. 📸
Whether it’s a wedding, birthday, graduation, school event, corporate event, banquet, fundraiser or celebration, those letters usually aren’t hiding in the corner.
They’re meant to be seen.
They’re part of your backdrop.
They’re in your group pictures.
People pose beside them.
And they can end up in hundreds of photos that live long after the event is over.
And there’s another piece I think gets overlooked when comparing the price of buying letters online versus renting them professionally:
You’re not just renting letters. You’re renting a service.
✨ Clean, bright, sturdy 3-foot marquees
✨ Professional delivery and setup
✨ Proper spacing and placement
✨ Someone making sure everything is working BEFORE your guests arrive
✨ No boxes to unpack or pieces to assemble
✨ No transporting them to and from your venue
✨ No troubleshooting on event day
✨ No figuring out where to store them afterward
✨ And when the party is over? We come back, break everything down and take it away.
You get to enjoy your event. We handle the rest. 🙌🏼
There are absolutely places to save money when planning an event… and I will never tell someone they HAVE to rent professional marquees.
I just want you to know what you’re comparing before making that decision. 🤍
If purchasing works best for your event, great! Just please open that box before the night before your event. 😂👏🏼
