With that being said… I am Out Of The Office Until Further Notice 😎✌🏻 (I still have a few more weddings to post about and hope to do so soon bc I just can’t leave those beautiful brides off my page… but other than that- I’ll do my best to keep you posted with cute baby pics and family updates! 🩷)

“That’s my mom!”
I’ve held on to this post for quite some time, not really knowing why. But now that the perfect time has come, I see why.

I’ve had a lot of moments at weddings that made me get choked up or even tearful. But this one I remember the most because it caught me so off guard.
During this particular Mother-Son Dance, the groom and his mom busted into the most upbeat and joy-filled dance I’ve seen during one of these special dances. They’re usually slow, beautiful songs full of meaning, but very personal to the ones dancing. This one just felt different. Everyone could feel it and joined in on the excitement, you could tell they weren’t worried about anything else, not their dance moves or what others thought- it was beautiful to watch. Just pure joy.
As my own kids grow older, the parts of weddings dealing with the parents get more and more meaningful and memorable for me. I could imagine being at my own kids’ weddings and how it would feel to be a part of it all, from a different perspective.
At this particular wedding, that feeling hit hard when the brother of the groom walked up next to me and said emphatically “That’s my mom!!!”
To this day I can feel his excitement and the pride that he felt watching his mom and brother having a blast on the dance floor without a care in the world. The moment really caught me off guard and I had to take a minute to catch my breath and choke back tears. I could just imagine my two oldest boys (at the time) in the same situation and the thought filled me with so much joy.

I have a confession…
I really do love what I do 🥰
I know saying that “I love Love” is so cliche… but it’s so true. The pretty stuff is great, but the real, honest, and raw emotion from two people in love is what we live for and long for on a wedding day. Ideally we have both, the beautiful and the real (that’s where we come in).
I think most of the wedding vendors you’ll meet are hopeless romantics like me and Knowing the best vendors are there for you on your big day, allows you to be emotionally present with the love of your life.

If you’re still looking for vendors, these would be a great place to start…

I’M OUT. 😆
I’ll be “out of the office” from Nov 9th to the 18th.
I can’t believe I finally get to be the one writing that— I’m so excited to go on a trip with my hubby (and ONLY the hubby)...It’s been quite awhile since we’ve been able to get away together.
Any guesses as to where we will be??

And just like that, 13 years flew by.
Happy Anniversary to the love of my life.

A few things we’ve learned along the way…
1- you’re on the SAME TEAM.
2- you picked each other FOR A REASON.
3- laugh together as much as YOU POSSIBLY CAN.

Wedding days can be stressful at times, and the following year isn’t always the ‘honeymoon’ phase people dream about. If you’re ever struggling, remember the three things listed above!
If it was easy, everyone would do it. It’s supposed to be hard- the hard is what makes it worthwhile. 🤍

Brides please Remember,
Fresh flowers are valued not only because they are beautiful, but they are valued because they are vulnerable, delicate, and completely unique.
No two flowers (even from the same family)are exactly the same.
On your wedding day, be like your flowers- never be afraid to be vulnerable to the ones you love, be uniquely yourself, be beautiful.

Details, Details.
Don't forget your details!
These two details might go unnoticed until the end of the night, but they're still just as important 😏

Be sure to put all your special details in a box ready for your photographer at the start of the day. Have your planner or MOH ready to hand it over for photos.

Be sure your guests are greeted properly at cocktail hour.
Cocktail (or "Bistro") tables are helpful for guests to place a drink or food and have a spot to gather around.
I love the size and style of the arrangements on these tables, something too big will take away from the space needed, and nothing or something too small will look awkward.

Happy Friday Y’all!
Will you be burying the bourbon?
Following this old wives' tale is supposed to ensure beautiful weather on your wedding day. Southern Brides love to follow traditions (when possible!) and burying the bourbon is no different!
This sweet dad followed the protocol to the T - by burying this bottle as close to the reception site as possible, exactly one month before the wedding day- and then digging it up the morning of the wedding! The weather that day was perfect.

Things to keep in mind:
-It must be *Bourbon*, not Whiskey
-Bury the bottle upside down
-It will be messy when you dig it up, so be prepared!
-Don't forget to enjoy it with your friends and family
Cheers!
