As many of you know, Appalachian Asenso started with a simple idea—people in our area often say there’s nothing to do locally. We wanted to change that by creating an affordable, family-friendly place where people could enjoy indoor glow-in-the-dark mini golf and laser tag right here in Lee County.
When we opened on October 31st, 2025, the space was completely bare. It was a former physical therapy office with plain walls and empty rooms. From day one, we’ve worked to turn it into what it is today.
In just a few months, we’ve built out an indoor mini golf course and a laser tag arena from scratch. We’ve added black lights throughout both areas to create the glow-in-the-dark experience. We’ve brought in color, design, and theming so it no longer feels like what it once was. We’ve added a comfortable seating area for parents and grandparents to relax while their families play. We’ve added guest WiFi, and we regularly have sports and movies playing in the background so it feels like more than just an activity—it feels like a place to spend time.
The truth is, keeping a small business going is not easy. These past few months have been very slow, and unless things improve over the next few months, we may not be able to continue operating after our lease ends in September.
We’re not posting this for sympathy. We’re posting this because we believe people should know the reality—places like this only survive when the community uses them.
Our goal is still to keep these doors open and continue providing a safe, fun place for families, friends, and kids to make memories. We still believe this community deserves that.
