Details will always be one of my most favorite things from weddings. It shows your personalities and who you are independent and together as a couple. A lot of people will use the details as supporting cast for the greater feel of the wedding, but to us? They are what shine they brightest (After our Bride and Groom of course!)

Wedding Tip Wednesday has me thinking details. Prepping all of your details (jewelry, perfume/cologne, paper products etc) into a shoebox or clear Tupperware shoe bin helps your photography and videography teams capture these memories without missing a single item!

Spending this evening reminiscing on this season after spending yesterday doing our last wedding of 2021… just thinking back over these couples…how insane it had been to postpone, cancel, replan, readjust…this season was one of lessons, growth and Grace all slammed into an intense and incredible year. But my most favorite part? Every single bride and groom said what I always long to hear “the important part is getting married” and that’s the thing, right?
The parties are fun to plan (obviously near and dear to my heart) but at the end of the day…REALLY the most important part is that you leave that pretty party in the incredible dress having had the night of your lives…to spend the rest of yours waking up to the person you committed yourself to loving through the ups and downs (even when sometimes it feels like there are more downs 😅😅 )
So for now? We’ll continue to be thankful and grateful for every single Sweet Southern Party couple, for the grace you all showed walking through one heck of a fire 🔥 yall are the real MVPs!

👋🏼 long time no talk everybody! We have been hunkering down like the rest of the world for what seems like forever. Kids home since March for the rest of the foreseeable future and 98% of our 2020 weddings shifted to 2021! What a time we live in. Remember back before corona virus hit we mentioned some changes coming to SSP? Well with all this time it has given us a chance to really cement all those future plans. The SSP family is growing by 2 of the littlest feet come September which has made this tough decision a little easier. We have decided not to take on any future clients and will finish out our 2020/2021 season with the amazing brides and grooms we have! That means you will probably see a lot less of us in person and on IG/Facebook, but may still see us from time to time as we complete these last SSP weddings from August of this year, through August 2021.
I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best clients and vendors in the area and have made so many friends/friendors and have cherished every single event and it’s unique and loving moments. The wedding industry will always have a piece of my heart, but with the future being unknown, and the probability that I will be switching from wedding planner, to homeschool teacher looming(😳😑).....this tough decision is best for our family. I hope we can still stay in touch!
For any brides still looking for a coordinator or Planner-I will still continue to recommend the amazing women surrounding me who have always stepped in to fill a need, and my team lead, Paige is venturing from the nest to open her very own planning firm-so you will still have the resources you need!

We have been pretty quiet over here at SSP as we adjust to our new normal...homeschooling 2 very active children😬 and help our 2020 clients effected by COVID-19 adjust their plans for this wedding season. Hello lovely followers, clients, friends, friendors! I have been pretty silent on social media lately as I buckle down and help my April, May and June clients navigate the current climate. Did you know in Virginia, the current “Stay at Home Order” is in place through June 10th and schools have been closed for the remainder of the 2019/2020 school year?
This means our clients both in town and out of town are having to make some pretty tough decisions. I had always said I love Wedding Planning for the logistics of it, the problem solving and making everything work with little to no stress on my clients. However, this situation is pretty different. News media is EVERYWHERE overwhelming everyone with a ton information.
Let’s do a little check in....how are you feeling?? Stressed, sad, frustrated, angry? All of these are totally normal when trying to make the hardest decisions on an event you have poured your heart and soul in to.
With all that being said, we will continue to offer our hourly consultation packages, meaning you give us a call (set an appointment, please!) and we will help you navigate this and provide you with tools to wade through all the craziness. Whether that’s just a “what should I do?!” “What should my next steps should I be taking?!” “Am I going to lose all of my deposits?!” “What are the pros and cons of cancelling vs postponing?” As always, Paige and I are here to help you navigate the high waters. Just stepped back on US soil after an awesome with so many other awesome So what better way to kick off Friday introductions?? Hey new friends 👋🏼👋🏼 thanks for stopping by ☺️ I spent the entire last week really thinking about the last 5 years (FIVE?! How is my company 5 years old?!) it feels like forever and a blink of an eye all at the same time. My first year I dove in with abandon, looking for something to get me out of the house (being a stay at home mom is amazing but can also be a little isolating adult conversation wise) and wedding planning gave me purpose and the opportunity to help couples and families bring their visions to life.
I have decided that 2020 and beyond will start looking a little different over here at Sweet Southern Party as I go back to focus on my family a little more while supporting some other pretty important people to me. (I’ll save that Friday introductions post for next week, I’m lookin at you 😘🥰) my word for 2020 is balance. I am pretty transparent that I am still a stay at home mom, but here are some other fun facts you might NOT already know!
1. I am the VP of my sons school PTA. This means I help run and plan the events for the PTA...not just weddings
2. I went to Art School and received my BA in Fashion Marketing and Merchandising but took a ton of design classes. My favorite design teacher told me I was “in a box” but by the end of the quarter decided that “the box worked” for me and that I had an eye for detail
3. I am an introvert to my very core, y’all. Please don’t ask me to be your emcee, I will pass out 😂😂 I don’t mind small groups or being in the shadows of your event-I would rather not be seen or heard...I want to be shouldering all of the details so y’all can have the best day ever
4. Fun fact I cheered competitively in High School and not so competitively was the Captain of my college cheer squad my Sophomore year before switching to start school

All of my Christmas/winter trees are officially down. I couldn’t stand them taking up space in my foyer a second longer 😂 I am NOT a winter gal, I’m so ready for Spring/Summer. So for now I’m going to just dream about this stunning June wedding, while incorporating some winterized chinoiserie around my house 💕 How do you transition from Christmas to just winter?
