Meet our green and white summer arch. We gave the foliage a little drink, and well, you’ll see what happened next.

This one is for our green and white summer brides, the ones dreaming of something fresh, clean, and just a little romantic. It’s exactly the kind of thing our designers love to build for a wedding day, and this weekend you get to stand under it yourself.

Remember that wine bottle Payton was painting? Today it went up. With a ladder and help from the best stepdad, the bottle and glass found their home at the Wijn House.
Next comes the best part, the merlot florals that will pour right out of it. This is what you’ll see when the Wine and Art Walk starts tomorrow. Tickets are at the link in the comments, and I promise the photo is worth it.

A few mornings ago we got to fill the Scholte Garden with sunny, summery arrangements for Brunch in the Gardens. The Pella Historical Society and Museums do so much for our community and for me as a business owner, from the community events that fill our calendar to Tulip Time, which brings hundreds of thousands of visitors through our streets every spring. Getting to give a little beauty back to them is the easiest yes there is.

There’s a 7 foot tall wine bottle drying in the back of our flower shop right now, and a wine glass that will match. Payton has been hand painting, both, because Friday they’re going to be on the side of the Wijn House, with Merlot and Burgendy florals pouring from one into the other.
This is your first peek at something we’ve been dreaming up for Pella‘s wine and art walk. Wine is Friday the 26th and art is Saturday the 27th, and the whole thing starts right at our front door. Grab your spot at the link in the comments. Come watch this come to life with us!

Last weekend I had the honor of helping my friend Nicolle welcome people back into the Strawtown Inn. I got to give tours through the rooms, and the best part was listening to guests share their own memories of staying here over the years, the kind of stories that make a place feel alive.
The night got even sweeter when Eunice Folkerts walked in. Eunice was a key part of the original inn and restaurant, and she filled the rooms with the laughter and history you only get from someone who helped build a place from the ground up. The artist Sally DeReus came too, getting to see her artwork once again.
There’s something about a beloved Pella spot getting a fresh start. We were so glad to be a small part of it. Congratulations, Nicolle. We can’t wait to watch what comes next.
