At the Pelham Civic Complex & Ice Arena, your child can go from never having skated before to playing in a hockey league โ€” all through our step-by-step program!

โ›ธ๏ธ Step 1: Little Toroโ€™s โ€“ Learn to Skate
Kids ages 4โ€“17 learn the basics like gliding, stopping, and balance โ€” the foundation for future hockey skills.

๐Ÿ’ Step 2: Learn to Play
Once skating skills are solid, players start working on puck handling, shooting, and small-area games.

๐Ÿฅ… Step 3: League Play
Graduates join the Pelham Youth Hockey League (PYHL) and hit the ice for real games!

All programs provide essential gear and a fun, supportive learning environment. ๐ŸงŠ

Our Story

Tucked below Oak Mountain, only 20 minutes south of Birmingham, the Pelham Civic Complex and Ice Arena is Shelby Countyโ€™s finest entertainment, conference and banquet facility. It is the ideal place to showcase your special event.

ICE ARENA

We feature two NHL-sized ice arenas, a skating school, and skating-birthday party rooms. We are home to Birmingham Bulls Hockey, The Birmingham Figure Skating Club, and the Pelham Youth Hockey League. We also offer dedicated ice-time for the recreational ice skater, figure skater or hockey player. Call us to reserve your time on the ice!
