🌱 Behind the Blooms: Fall Garden Prep! 🌸
A little behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to get my backyard cut-flower gardens ready for another growing season!
It's not the prettiest part of flower growing, but it's one of the most important! Pulling out old plants, clearing weeds, refreshing soil, preparing beds, and getting everything ready for spring planting.
Meg's Backyard Blooms is pretty much a one-woman show, so most of this happens during my daughter's nap time and whenever I can squeeze in some work on the weekends!
Thankfully, I had some extra hands this past weekend helping with the big cleanup and building a new garden bed!
More roses have gone into the ground, the sweet peas are planted, and several beds are prepped and ready to go! With cooler weather finally arriving, I'm hoping to get lots of little plants into the ground over the next week!
I love sharing this side of my little flower business because there's so much more that goes into growing flowers than just picking them and arranging them! There's the planning, seeds, soil amendments, supplies, countless hours of work, and months of tending to these plants before they ever produce a single bloom.
It's a labor of love, and I hope sharing these behind-the-scenes moments gives you a little glimpse into the care that goes into every arrangement. 💕
A lot of work goes into those little jars of flowers! 🌸
