Huge shout out to Bailey's Smokehouse of Blauvelt for donating a family dinner which fed 21 individuals at a Venture group home this past week! The generosity of our community has been tremendous, thank you, Paul Butler, for arranging the donation of this wonderful meal!

Why not honor your Dad, Step-Dad, Grandfather, Godfather, Uncle, Son, or any special person this Father’s Day with a meal donated to the Hidden Heroes of Venture and those in their care? Stay tuned for a new date!

With reports of novel coronavirus having reached Rockland and little certainty about how and when it will impact our community, we have decided to postpone the Handbag Bingo event scheduled for Thursday, March 19th. We plan to reschedule the event once conditions become more defined, but currently do not have an alternate date; all pre-paid reservations will be honored on the rescheduled date. Please be assured that decisions to postpone an event are made with an abundance of caution and in the interest of reducing the number of local gatherings where the virus can spread. No one involved with the Venture Foundation is known to have had contact with the illness, but we're taking CDC and Rockland County recommended precautions to stay healthy and keep our facility virus-free.

Join us as we celebrate John Allen Murphy, a selfless leader that has spent his life helping those that cannot help themselves!

John Allen Murphy’s name can certainly generate some reaction from many, many people within Rockland County. Most of those reactions are tied directly back to people within the Rockland community that have reaped the benefit, in one way or another, of the endless, dedicated service that he is known for. His life mission has been to help those who cannot help themselves, and he has accomplished this through the many different organizations he is involved with, including, by not limited to: Abbott House for Children; Ancient Order of Hibernians; Conway House; Helen Hayes Performing Arts; Homes for Heroes; Joseph’s Home; Loeb House; Petitions for Paula; Rockland Autism Symposium; Rockland County Board of Mental Health and Alcoholism; Rockland County Legislator; Rockland Psychiatric Center & Rockland Children’s Psychiatric Center; RPC Board of Visitors; St Agatha’s Home for Children; St Dominic’s Family Services; and Venture. WHEW!

Venture Foundation will host a well-deserved tribute event celebrating a lifetime of service to our community on Saturday, April 13th. All are welcome to attend this event; however, advance registration is required. If you are not able to attend but would like to send a message to John, you may participate in the commemorative journal which will be published for this event.
