Be very picky when choosing a video. We work with a bunch of true professional. With that said we have also been have to many events when key shots have been ruined time and time again. We will always try to work together to get the best results for the bridegrooms. But some of the Video people we work with do not see it that way. I’m sure our photographers don’t wanna work with the Video people either which is just wrong. Video person should be side-by-side with us .

1. Competition for Space & Shots
• Both the photographer and videographer need to capture key moments, like the first kiss or the couple’s entrance.
• Videographers often use tripods, gimbals, or drones, which can take up space and make it harder for photographers to move freely.
• Some videographers prefer continuous movement, which can interfere with a photographer’s static shots.

2. Lighting Conflicts
• Videographers may need continuous lighting, which can create harsh shadows or disrupt the ambiance that photographers rely on.
• Flash photography can interfere with video footage, especially in dimly lit venues.

3. Different Shooting Styles & Pacing
• Photographers typically direct and pose couples for still shots, while videographers often need natural, flowing movement for cinematic footage.
• A videographer might ask the couple to repeat an action for a better shot, while photographers want authentic, one-time moments.

4. Editing & Client Expectations
• Couples sometimes prioritize video over photos (or vice versa), creating pressure on one team.
• Some photographers feel that videographers slow down the workflow or require too much setup time.

5. Unprofessional Experiences
• If a photographer or videographer has worked with inconsiderate counterparts in the past (blocking shots, refusing to coordinate), it can create frustration and bias against the other profession.

How to Avoid Conflict?

Many photographers and videographers work beautifully together when they:
✔ Communicate before the wedding to plan movements and key shots.
✔ Respect each other’s space and adjust angles to avoid blocking each other.
✔ Use complementary gear (e.g., silent shutter modes, discrete lighting).
✔ Have a team-first mentality, remembering they both serve the couple.

The Ultimate Engagement Photo Session Guide: Look Good, Feel Amazing & Have a Blast!

So, you’re engaged—congrats! Now it’s time for your engagement photo session, a.k.a. a chance to capture all the love, excitement, and seriously cute moments before the big day. Want to make sure your session is stress-free, fun, and results in photos you’re obsessed with? Here are our top tips and tricks to make your engagement shoot a total success!

1. Hair: Keep It Styled, Not Wild!

Mother Nature loves to test us with unexpected wind gusts, so come prepared!

✔ Hairspray is your BFF. A light mist of flexible-hold spray will keep flyaways under control without making your hair stiff.
✔ Bobby pins & hair ties = lifesavers. Even if you’re rocking a down ‘do, have a few handy just in case.
✔ Consider a style that works with the wind, not against it. Soft waves, curls, or a chic updo can keep things looking effortless and natural.

2. Shine-Free & Photo-Ready Makeup

A little extra glow is great—looking like a disco ball? Not so much.

✔ Use a good primer & setting powder. This helps your foundation stay put and keeps shine under control, especially on hot days.
✔ Blotting papers are magic. Toss a pack in your bag to dab away any oil buildup without messing up your makeup.
✔ Go slightly bolder than usual. Natural light (and cameras) can wash out colors, so a slightly deeper lipstick or blush will pop beautifully in photos.

3. Dress to Impress—But Keep It Comfortable!

If you feel good in what you’re wearing, it shows in your photos!

✔ Pick outfits that feel like you. This isn’t the time for itchy fabrics or clothes that make you self-conscious.
✔ Avoid super-tight or super-loose clothing. Fitted but comfortable is the way to go—nothing too baggy, nothing too restrictive.
✔ Coordinate, don’t match. Think complementary colors and styles rather than identical outfits.
✔ Bring a backup! If the weather turns or you’re feeling a mid-session switch-up, having a second outfit can save the day.

4. Movement = Magic

The best photos aren’t stiff or overly posed—they’re full of life!

✔ Be playful! Run, spin, dance, or whisper something silly to each other. The more fun you have, the better your photos will be.
✔ Trust your photographer. If they tell you to twirl, dip, or look at each other and laugh for no reason—just go with it!
✔ Forget the camera is there. Focus on your partner, enjoy the moment, and let your love shine through.

5. Timing & Location = Photo Gold

Where and when you shoot can make all the difference.

✔ Golden hour is your best friend. That soft, dreamy light just before sunset? Chef’s kiss.
✔ Pick a location with meaning. Whether it’s where you had your first date or just a spot with killer views, make it personal!
✔ Avoid crowded places. Unless you want strangers photobombing your pics, opt for quieter, more intimate settings.

6. Relax, Have Fun & Enjoy the Moment!

Your engagement session isn’t just about photos—it’s about celebrating you two!

✔ Don’t stress about perfection. Some of the best shots come from unexpected moments!
✔ Laugh a lot. Genuinely happy couples make for the best photos.
✔ Think of it as a date. This is a chance to connect, have fun, and capture the love you share—so just enjoy it!
