October 15th marks the official start to .⁠⠀

I do not have a business start date but I did find this cheesy letter I sent 15 years ago, via snail mail. Which now makes it official to celebrate 15 years of being in business.

Let me know if you were one of the original people that got this letter. ⁠Because of this letter, I had friends and family members that would refer me or hire me and therefore, launch the business I have today.
⁠⠀
Please don't laugh when you read it, I really thought it was clever when I sent it. We all start somewhere, and for me it was this letter.

It’s and I’d like to take you back almost 8.5 years ago to 2012 bridal fashion show. I coordinated this event with only a few weeks notice and the support from my friends really made it happen, 6 out of the 12 beautiful models were my friends that volunteered to help me. I am beyond grateful for their involvement in this event. I’m so proud to see Thai’s new show recently streaming on Netflix There is something special to see another Vietnamese creative entrepreneur doing what they love, it’s really inspiring. ⠀

I remember details of every event I’ve ever planned, it’s a real problem. For this particular event, I remember being super nervous because it was the first time my parents had attended my event and saw me in action – and this was already a few years into my business! That same night, I was interviewed for a Vietnamese television channel. This was a channel that hardly anyone watched, but it did have two regular viewers – my parents. As I stood there, stumbling with my non-English words, trying to look composed and confident while everything rushed around me, I saw my mom out of the corner of my eye, beaming. It was such a small moment, stretched beyond its purpose, but it gave my mom a chance to see what I have been working on and talking about all of these years. I knew in that moment that arriving meant nothing if you arrived alone. Seeing my mom “feel” my success made me realize it wasn’t a lonely achievement, but a moment you could share with those you love the most.⠀
