Today we honor Marjorie Lowe, a beloved LACC educator whose gentleness, passion, and joy touched the lives of countless young choristers.
Marjorie was a music educator in the truest sense. She taught in LA public schools, directed church and community choirs, taught piano, and brought her boundless passion for music to LACC, where she taught musicianship and directed Prep Choir. Children adored her. Her joy was contagious. To know Marjorie was to feel the warmth of someone who truly believed in the power of music to shape a life.
One of our own staff, Eric Lifland, was eight years old when Marjorie was his very first choir director! Fifteen years later, he found himself working alongside her at LACC. A full circle moment he'll never forget.
Her influence lives on in every child who sang under her direction and in every one of us who had the privilege of working alongside her. We are so grateful for you, Marjorie. Rest in beautiful music.
