The Ella Ballroom, with its dramatic art deco design and elegant ambiance, is the perfect backdrop for intimate weddings and events of up to 120 guests or cocktail-style receptions for up to 250 guests. Both ballrooms each include private outdoor spaces, foyers, and bar areas. If you dream of an outdoor wedding ceremony, look no further than the breathtaking NOOR | Terrace. Complete with a beautiful fountain and 360-degree draping. The NOOR | Terrace is the perfect place to exchange your vows or celebrate the night away at a cocktail party under the stars. NOOR is the brainchild of music producer and entrepreneur Robert Shahnazarian and his wife, Maggie. Ah, NOOR! This dramatic event venue in the historic heart of downtown Pasadena seems to have the power to elevate any occasion and surround it in magic. Voted “Best Of” by the readers of Pasadena Weekly nine years in a row (2011-2019), this function-dedicated property features a collection of elegant spaces designed specifically with transcendent celebrations in mind. Indoors, you’ll find two stunning ballrooms with fabulous foyers. Outdoors, the urban charm of the NOOR | Terrace and NOOR | Promenade offer an ideal setting for extravagant cocktail receptions and illuminating wedding ceremonies.

Heads will turn and eyes will widen when guests step into the Sofia Ballroom’s lavish 1920s-inspired foyer. The long, burnished wood bar, high ceilings, and magnificent chandeliers will transport them to a world of glamour and gaiety. From here, your party will flow into the Sofia Ballroom, with its Art Nouveau styling and state-of-the-art audio/visual and lighting system. Overlooking the Baroque-inspired architecture of Pasadena’s historic City Hall and cascading views of the San Gabriel Mountains, your guests will be ensconced in a sophisticated al fresco lounge on our Sofia Balcony where they can practically reach out and touch the city skyline.

Like the Sofia Foyer and Ballroom complex, the Ella Foyer and Ballroom have their own fashionable entrance. The stylistic black double doors welcome you from the patio out front into a chic Hollywood club. Art Deco-imbued touches—the shiny black bar, Venetian plaster walls sculpted to look like tufted dove-gray leather, the wraparound black leather banquette, and the ethereal “ghost” chandeliers—enhance the luxurious vibe. It’s a striking introduction to the Ella Ballroom. Not quite as vast as the Sofia, this room’s more intimate “members only” atmosphere conjures up an era of opulence and prestige.
