I talked about this before, but it’s been sitting heavy on my heart again lately… so I wanted to share it here again.
**Disclaimer....If you are GOING THROUGH IT right now......this post might be too much right now.🫶❤
This last few photo seasons has been an emotional one.
I won’t get into too many details, but I’ve both witnessed loss and felt loss from photo friends. I’ve received texts, phone calls, and emails sharing the news, and I just want to say: what an honor that is.
To be invited into those sacred, heartbreaking spaces - to cry with you, grieve with you - it’s something I never, ever take lightly. And please know… I do cry with you.
Because photography, to me, isn’t just about showing up with a camera. It’s about cheering you on in your highest highs, and sending love - even if silently - during your lowest lows. It’s holding space for your story, wherever you are in it.

My community is so much more than “clients” to me.
I think about you - more often than you probably realize. I wonder how life is going, what’s new, how your kids are growing, what season you’re walking through etc. Some of you might think that’s a little crazy… but this is who I am. And it’s exactly who you get when you choose me as your photographer. ❤️

So why am I sharing this?
One, to say thank you for being here. YOU matter. Thank you for being here, friend!

And also… because life is short. I needed this reminder and maybe you did too.
If you’ve been thinking about booking a session - with your family, your love, your kids, whoever - please do it. Don’t wait for the perfect season, the perfect weather, the perfect outfits, the perfect weight, the perfect anything.

As always - my heart is not to scare you. Never to "push" photos on you.
Maybe photos aren't important to you (I won't hold that against you - I'm married to one of those 😂😂😂) Or to push me/by business for that matter (if you have another fav photographer - cool!🫶).

I just want to give you that little nudge that IF photos are important to you - don't wait. Get those photos on the calendar.

🌸Your wedding vendors will play a HUGE role in one of the most important days of your life, so this is your reminder to do your homework before signing a contract.🪻

Over the past two years, we’ve had multiple couples come to us after being scammed by photographers, DJs and caterers. It is heartbreaking to watch, and unfortunately, by the time we find out, there’s often very little that can be done. We are so angry that any one would do this in general- let alone for such an important part of a couples lives.

A few tips to help protect yourself:
✨ Read reviews on multiple platforms—not just social media.
✨ Ask to see a full gallery or examples of recent work.
✨ Make sure there’s a written contract.
✨ Be cautious if prices seem too good to be true.
✨ Ask your venue if they’ve worked with that vendor before. Venue owners see vendors in action and often know who is reliable, professional, and delivers on their promises.
✨ If your budget allows, hire a wedding coordinator. They can help spot red flags, keep you organized, and advocate for you throughout the planning process.
✨Onky work with vendors who you personally know others that have hired them.

We only recommend vendors we’ve personally worked with and trust to take great care of our couples. Your wedding day deserves a team that’s as invested in your experience as you are.
