Little late to the post but here is recap from last 2 weeks.
It felt a little magical — my first ever plugs from Farmer Bailey arrived, and they were tiny but mighty. 🌱 Each one looked so perfect that I couldn’t bring myself to wear gloves — I wanted to feel the roots, to plant them gently and give them the best start.

It’s our first little trial outside of peonies, and I’m so excited to see how these new perennials will do in our Colorado soil. We planted Scabiosa Fama White, Veronica Skyler White and Pink, yarrows, and a few dreamy delphiniums. Every day I check on them, making sure they get enough water to build strong roots before winter settles in.

My son, of course, turns planting into an adventure — scattering wood chips everywhere or stepping right through my fresh plugs. 😅 But honestly, I love it. These are the memories I want him to grow up with — dirt on his hands, laughter in the air, and the promise of new blooms each spring. 🌸

Here’s to hoping these tiny plants make it through the cold and greet us with color and bees next year. 🌿

Peony season is officially over.
And with it comes a moment to reflect—
on what went beautifully right, and what didn’t go as planned.

This year, I learned that no matter how carefully you prepare, nature always has the final say.
We had more rain than usual in our dry Colorado climate—and over 30 peonies developed fungus.
Cutting them down to the ground was heartbreaking…
but also a small sacrifice in the grand cycle of growing.

I still remember planting them last fall—
dreaming of their blooms, praying everything would go right.
And then in spring, those tiny rhubarb-like shoots peeked through the soil.
I babied them—watering, checking, hoping.
Every stage was magic: planting, emerging, maturing, blooming.

One morning I even cried, watching the field come to life.
It felt bigger than flowers. It *was* bigger.

People say, “They’re just flowers—they’ll come back.”
But when you invest your savings, time, and heart into something so vulnerable to the elements,
the doubt is real.
And starting without any experience? That’s a whole different level of courage.

But look. These blooms… they’re first-year blooms.
And they’re incredible.
And I’m proud of myself.

🌸 Here’s to learning, growing, and blooming—again next year 💕
