It's easy to think of the American Legion as just a building, a meeting, or a bar.. but when we stop and look around, we see something much bu**er than that.

We see volunteers giving their time without being asked. We see veterans helping veterans.
We see families gathering for celebrations, community groups finding a place to meet, youth learning the value of service, and neighbors coming together to support one another.
We've hosted events, raised funds for important causes, supported local organizations, honored our fallen heroes, advocated for veterans, provided resources to those in need, and created opportunities for connection and fellowship.

People who believe that service doesn't end when the uniform comes off. People who show up, lend a hand, and invest in their community.
To every member, volunteer, donor, renter, supporter, Legion Family member, and community partner—thank you. Your support allows us to continue our mission of serving veterans, strengthening our community, mentoring youth, and promoting patriotism.
Together, we're doing more than maintaining a Post.

A message from Commander Pafford:

"I am asking all members of American Legion Post 32, families, and community members to take a few minutes to contact Nebraska's members of the U.S. House of Representatives and urge them to sign the discharge petition for the Richard Star Act.

This affects approximately 54,000 combat-injured veterans, resulting in significant financial losses for veterans who sacrificed greatly in service to our nation.

This is the closest the Richard Star Act has ever come to receiving a vote in Congress. We have a real opportunity to get this legislation across the finish line, but it will take veterans, families, and supporters speaking up now.

Please respectfully contact our Nebraska Representatives and ask them to sign the discharge petition and support the Richard Star Act."

Did you know?

Your local VSO can provide markers for war veterans, and American Legion emblem markers. These are free, and can be requested through your county VSO for the war veteran markers, and a request for an emblem on a headstone through the American Legion.

This is the grave of two Korean War veterans, husband and wife. Their daughter, Sue, called our post because she was having difficulty finding a marker for her mother. We directed her to the Sarpy County VSO office after hearing they had many available markers.

Sue drove up to Dysart, IA where her parents lay, and finally completed the set of markers honoring both of her parents service 🇺🇸

American Legion Post 32 2026-2027 officer elections are Thursday, June 4 from 5pm-6:45pm in the Post Hall. General membership meeting follows at 7:00pm.
