Help us support this year's Omaha VA Stand-down this Fall.

Our homeless and less-fortunate Veterans stood up for us---now it 's our turn to "Stand Down" for them. Your donated essentials can help them rebuild their lives with dignity, safety, and hope!

There are drop-offs located at the Post Hall and at Moran's both located on Lincoln Street in Papillion.

In recognition of The American Legion's 90th birthday in 2009, the Senate and House of Representatives passed a resolution designating Sept. 16 as .
⁠The measure was shepherded through the Senate by then-Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, who praised the Legion for its continued aid to wounded veterans and military families, legacy of community volunteerism and significant role in establishing important national legislation.

POW/MIA CEREMONY & BLUE STAR MEMORIAL DEDICATION FRIDAY, SEPT. 19, 2025 ::: 11:00am-12:00pm
Memorial Park – 6005 Underwood Ave., Omaha, Nebraska.

Join us in Memorial Park on POW/MIA Recognition Day for a ceremony to remember and honor those Americans who were prisoners of war and those who served and never returned home. The ceremony will include a dedication for the new Blue Star Memorial By-Way monument that was recently installed in the park as a tribute to the Armed Forces of America.
