A legacy of love and truly forever meant forever. She wasn’t a “bridezilla” she didn’t even pick out her dream dress she borrowed this one from her suitemate at (HU) college, she didn’t have the perfect shade of “blush” in all the flowers but a simply bouquet of white carnations, she didn’t have her father to walk her down the aisle, no caterer to serve speciality dishes, just nuts and mints in the West Side Church of Christ in Searcy. BUT what she did have was a good man, with a good heart and a firm commitment to her and their life together. MY MOTHER, asked so little of others and gives so much that I believe my father was her gift. He left us 11 years ago but his love and memories have been with us since 1965. This year would have been their 60th wedding anniversary and though he may be absent, his memory and spirit remain, celebrating a lifetime of memories and a bond that endured forever. On your wedding day stop and remember what is truly important …..
*fifty years after her wedding and a year after my dad passed her friend that she borrowed the dress from called her up and asked her if she would want the dress back
