Itâs Womenâs History Month⌠and this one feels bigger than just us. Yes, Allison and I are women who own a business. Yes, we walk into rooms with red hair, wild curls, laughter, and strategy, but we didnât create this lane. We inherited 'it' and courage; The courage from women who couldnât have bank accounts without permission...
From the women who werenât allowed at certain tables....From the women who were told to âtone it downâ ...from the women who worked twice as hard to be heard half as much...And because of them, we get to walk into many many many spaces and lead with confidence.
Because of them, we sign contracts.
Because of them, we build companies.
Because of them, we get to be fully ourselves not a watered-down version.
Weâve been called âthe colour and the curls" which we love btw but also we ARE a product of grit, resilience, and women who refused to quit long before we ever soared upon the scene.
Womenâs History Month isnât just celebration.
Itâs gratitude. SO MUCH GRATITUDE. Gratitude for the doors that were pushed open. Gratitude for the shoulders we stand on. Gratitude for the example that strength and softness can coexist.
And guess what? Itâs our priveledge to hold the door open wider and build the bigger table for EVERY woman(person) who refuses to shrink.
