HiL at Mosey’s • 🎟️ ON SALE FRIDAY

After years of dreaming about it I can finally say the kings of rock & roll, He is Legend are coming to Mosey’s & will be performing a career spanning setlist. On tour with them are NJ math/pop-punk quartet In Angles & the Carolinian hardcore outfit Excide. Our hometown hero’s Taken For Granted will be opening up 💪

It’s not every day I get to ramble & gush about one of my favorite bands in concordance with promoting a show, so here it goes. My love for the legend all started in ‘06 seeing “The Seduction” music video on a programming block called Steelroots on the INSP channel. It showcased alt “Christian” music (I learned years later HiL is no Christian band lol) & x-treme sports. I was kind of scared as my 12yr old self had never heard growling vocals like that before, but also amused by the puppet show with all the cool looking creatures. Shortly after I downloaded “Suave”, the only track that was on their purevolume page. Then a year or so later it was “Mushroom River” on the Take Action Tour compilation I picked up at Walmart. Sometime around ‘08/‘09, I pirated the first few HiL releases (sorry, I’m poor) and would spend many hours getting lost in a game of Ratchet & Clank on the PS2 while listening to them on my iPod. Something about the heaviness combined with the atmosphere their music creates made for a perfect soundtrack.

From then on they’ve continued to put out classic album after classic album. Always keeping it fresh while staying true to the He Is Legend sound. The way they blend grunge, glam, & hard rock with metalcore & post-hardcore is very unique and masterfully unmatched. No one does it quite like the legend.

7 years ago today, Life’s Question at Blasted Music Hall. This show was a lot of fun. The touring bands spent their money from the previous night on fireworks which they shot off in the parking lot after the show. Blasted was one of the coolest show spaces that’s existed since Beck’s/Axis days, but criminally short-lived thanks to pandmic. There was so much mosh room!

30 years ago next Saturday. Van’s Warped Tour in PCB. My favorite band headlining. Why’d I have to be two years old? Pretty crazy that Panhandle Panic Fest falls on the 30th anniversary of this. I had no idea until moments ago when I saw Brian Kuczenski post this on FB.

This how we finna be next weekend at Panhandle Panic Fest except it’s gonna be indoors & just as hot and instead of paramore’s Haley Williams telling people she wants to see some horns, it will be NO CURE ###’s Blaythe Steuer telling people he wants to see everyone move each other in a reckless and scary fashion. Keepin’ things rollin’ with this banger after Panic Fest. Yes, we just announced this a few days ago but there has been a lineup change. I’m excited to reunite these bands for another epic rock gig with the addition of the Cowl! Haven’t had them on in a hot minute!
