Why did I choose to be a wedding planner?

It didn’t fall into my lap, I certainly haven’t planned my own wedding then decided it would be fun. I don’t do it on the side, or have a spouse to help supplement my income. It’s not wrong if that is someone’s path, but for me, it’s always been bigger than that, I started in this industry at 19. I have always had a deep-rooted love and passion for serving others and being a part of something bigger than myself. Maybe it stems from childhood things like wanting to please others, or maybe I was just meant to do this. I like to think I was made for this. Made to exceed expectations, dream up big ideas, connect with people, build trusting relationships with vendors, and provide a high level of service that is impossible to duplicate.

Working with trusting clients who want a high level of service and want to be shown possibilities that excite them is what fuels my fire. It’s definitely a challenge being within the limitations of Alaska, but there’s no place I’d rather be (except maybe Hawaii😎). We don’t offer cut and paste packages, we build options that work best for our clients, which sometimes means creating a package that offers more than they originally thought they needed. Our team of experienced planners provides an unmatched offering on event days and the ability to add our in house rentals is a game changers for so many.

When clients book with us, we are all in. We’re doing things behind the scenes that you may never even realize. We’re going that extra mile (figuratively and literally). I chose these images because they embody so much of what I value and what we bring to the table.

Elements that were a priority for these two and their elopement was starting out with a helicopter, a secluded hike, having their ceremony overlooking the vast ice field, landing on a glacier, and ending the night near a river with a fire, custom cocktails, gourmet s’mores, and the best pizza.

A moody beach side wedding in Seward made for an epic party✨

Emily & Wade wanted to create a space for their guests to enjoy Alaskas beauty, local food, and a really good party to celebrate their marriage!

We loved working with these two while they lived in Hawaii and were planning from afar. We had a rainy day but it didn’t stop anyone from showing up and enjoying the evening late into the night.

Swipe to see beautiful flowers, an intimate moss covered ceremony, a cape and a dress change, simple but intentional tablescapes, a delicious cake, custom keychains, a tent roof with too much water, a wedding crasher dog, yard games in the rain, and a packed dance floor with a great band!

✨Transformation✨

Transforming spaces truly is my favorite thing to do.

What better place to have your reception than at your family home on the lake with a large boat shop doubling as a pickleball court as the reception space??

Another special and sentimental wedding for us. was “my” senior in high school. I looked up to her as a basketball player and as a friend. I chose my jersey number because of her all through high school and college because she had the best post moves (and still does at women’s league). Will always be appreciative of her choosing us as her planner and trusting the process with me.

Swipe to the end for when things got real serious, I was “forced” into joining the single ladies for the bouquet toss and had to take off my planning essentials. Definitely let one of my current (at the time) players get the honors though.☺️💐

Reminiscing on an impactful wedding back in 2020. These clients are near and dear to me, two people who wholeheartedly trusted me during a very uncertain time (summer of covid) while also working with a short timeline. Jennifer & Ryan had to change their plans completely and though I wish they could have had the wedding they intended, I’m so glad they found me and we were able to ease their worries and make magic happen.✨

I was recently asked by potential clients during a consult what I look for in clients. I can honestly say no client has ever asked me that before so it was a strange feeling. Our ideal clients are those who TRUST us, they know what they want (or maybe are still figuring it out) and see that in our team. They aren’t afraid to think outside the box or dream a little bigger or blindly trust we’re doing the right thing for them. They value the relationships (our vendors are top tier!) we’ve built and maintained over the 13 years we’ve been doing business. They may not always be looking for over the top but either way, they want intentional. We’re not here to make every wedding look the same, we want it to reflect your relationship and let those personal touches shine through.

& were the perfect clients. I’m so grateful that we have continued our relationship and I’ve watched your family grow since then. Being able to be friends with your clients after their wedding is the biggest compliment and the best gift.

A little client appreciation post:

When one of your corporate clients books you for the 3rd time this year…the appreciation is REAL and I cannot thank them and all of our other clients enough for choosing us!

We don’t always get the opportunity to work with clients a second time, usually because they have just planned the most epic wedding with the person they will spend the rest of their life with (yay!). However, when our other service type clients (corporate, private, rental, or Photo Booth) choose us again and again, it really means the world. There can sometimes be a few fear thoughts that creep in “Did they like it, were they happy, I hope we exceeded expectations” but when we get positive feedback, personal thank you cards, referrals, reviews, and best of all repeat business it really reaffirms we’re in the right business of making people happy.
