While it's easy to get caught up in the stress of this time, connection is something we value because of this. We encourage our couples to take time to connect outside of planning; taking time to date where wedding talk is OFF LIMITS, celebrating little wedding planning wins like sending out your save-the-dates, etc. This builds a stronger relationship and conveys the real reason behind all the work going into this day.

We also like to connect with our couples. Sure, we'll be professional, but if we aren't able to have fun and be ourselves all together, how is this process going to be enjoyable to anyone? Let’s be real… your coordinator/planner will be the closest vendor to you through your wedding planning process. We wear many hats, from therapist, to designer, to family wrangler, and while we wouldn’t have it any other way, we want couples that are going to be themselves. This only allows us to be ourselves, and when that Is allowed on both ends, that is where the magic happens.

When it comes to a wedding, we want couples that value intentionality. And we aren’t just talking about time. We are talking about the care and handling of their details, keeping a shared goal in making decisions that represent their relationship and what’s important to them, not just to impress their guests.

Trust us - when spending money for your day, spend it on things that will be worthwhile to you, your partner and your guests. Not stuff that makes you look richer than you are, or the hottest trend just because it’s popular. Do what matters to you. You’ll be glad you did.

Example: Jackie and Manny have a shared love for Lalapalooza so she surprised him with this theme for their wedding day design. From the es**rt display, to the table names, every detail was intentional to the special memories they had together and their love of music. She also surprised him with Star Wars figurines on the back of their wedding cake. Such a small detail that made for such a big reaction. This is what we love! We will share more footage of this once it's ready!

These are the values that we want in our couples here at GPE. After many years of experience in this industry, we’ve had to face tough decisions in order to grow, make our value known, and determine the direction in which we are headed. We’ve worked with couples from all backgrounds, races, religions and lifestyles, coming to find that these values are what make the difference in the experience had and offered. If these aren’t you, we may not be a fit, but that’s ok. We’ll expand on our importance for each of these over the next week, but values are something to definitely keep in mind when considering a planner that’s right for you. We do the same in considering couples that are right for us.

Always be sure to include these details when discussing detail shots with your coordinator and photographer to ensure it's captured on the day-of 🤍🤍

We want to hear some opinions - cake or nah? We are finding more and more couples moving away from cakes altogether. Our opinion, if you don't like it, don't do it! It's your wedding, so why pay for something you won't enjoy?
