Call for Qualifications: Interior Mural at Palm Springs International Airport (PSP)

Palm Springs International Airport is seeking artists for a new large-scale interior mural as part of its growing ๐˜ผ๐™ง๐™ฉ@๐™‹๐™Ž๐™‹ program. The selected artwork will be installed in a highly visible location within the terminal and will help shape the visual experience of millions of travelers each year.

The opportunity is open to artists nationwide, but I would especially encourage local and regional artists to apply. Palm Springs has an extraordinary creative community, and this project offers a rare opportunity to contribute work to one of the most visible public spaces in the Coachella Valley.

Following the qualifications review process, three artists will be invited to develop formal proposals.

The mural site will be viewed from both considerable distances (100+ feet) and at close range (less than 3 feet), so the selection committee is particularly interested in artists whose work demonstrates visual impact and engagement at multiple scales.

Today is Thursday June 25th and in Palm Springs, CA that means it's Villagefest night from 7:00PM-10:00PM tonight! Villagefest - Palm Springs Weekly Street Fair happens every Thursday night on Palm Canyon Drive in Downtown Palm Springs. Don't forget to check out the International Food Court located in front of Crystal Fantasy, Hyatt Palm Springs, NYPD Palm Springs, Fruit Wonders - Palm Springs, CA, Tonga Hut Palm Springs, Shamrocks Irish Pub, The Sandwich Spot Palm Springs, Kimbals Boutique, Grรฉ Coffeehouse & Art Gallery, Tops N T**z, Sazzy's Galleria, Pimlico Place, West Elm near Amado Road. Park in one of the 1000 spaces under the Hyatt or take an Uber or Lyft ride share. Many Palm Springs - Downtown and Uptown shops, galleries and restaurants are also open. Stop by and see them too!
