Here’s a sneak peak of a small portion of our amazing stage design by Ryan Montgomery from Geary and Hyde Design and Upside. We are so honored to be able to work with them on this and be able to work closely with local artists. We are deeply grateful for our local artist community and honored any time we get to work with them.



About Geary and Hyde Design:

Ryan Montgomery is the founder and lead designer on all projects created by Geary and Hyde Design. They produce a large range of projects from large scale installations like the Dustfish stage, The Ice Pyrates "Ice Hull" and the Ghost Ship Portal to smaller signs and custom commissioned artwork. They apply a unique approach to create one-off custom designs for each and every client. Every project is given the greatest attention to detail and is looked upon as an exciting challenge.



About Upside:

The Upside is a shared space. They are a nurturing community of artists working together and independently to realize their creative potential and share their gifts with the world. They are a concept, a center, a resource, a host.



Currently, The Upside is home to various resident artists who share the studio space for their creative endeavors ranging from small textiles to large-scale, interactive productions. As their family grows, we shift and pivot to adjust, accommodate and encourage.

Happy to be partnering with on the Union Street Festival, June 1-2 in SF. Check out the interactive activation created and managed by to learn about self-driving technology and their mission to make it safe and easy for people and things to move around in . Since starting as the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, their innovative team has been working towards improving the world’s access to mobility while saving thousands of lives now lost to traffic crashes.

Miramar Events is proud to support the annual Super Bowl of Fundraisers on the San Mateo Coast!

The Mavericks Community Foundation proudly announces Coastside Gives, their superstar annual online fundraiser scheduled for May 2nd, 2024.

Since its inception in 2015, Coastside Gives has raised over $6 million, directly benefiting more than 70 local nonprofits and 48,000 individuals within the community.

This year's event will feature a 24-hour fundraising marathon primarily focused on May 2nd involving 66 nonprofits from Montara to Pescadero.

These organizations operate across various sectors including education, environmental conservation, the arts, agriculture, social services, literacy, equity and inclusion, and community development.

For many organizations, Coastside Gives serves as a lifeline, becoming a crucial source of financial support.

Mavericks Community Foundation extends its gratitude to local foundations, businesses, and donors whose unwavering support has made Coastside Gives possible.

The primary objective of Coastside Gives is to mobilize the community and supporters of nonprofits to donate within a 24-hour window on May 2nd, 2024. Both online and in-person donations will be accepted.

Those preferring to donate in person can visit the Coastside Gives donation table at New Leaf Community Market in Half Moon Bay from 9 am to 6 pm on May 2nd. Online early giving started on April 1st. Visit www.coastsidegives.org and donate today. Small amounts can have big impacts!

Additionally, nonprofits have the opportunity to receive prize grants based on various categories such as the highest funds raised or the most donors within a specific hour, thanks to the generous contributions from community residents, businesses, and foundations.

Mavericks Community Foundation actively engages the community, fosters partnerships, and promotes philanthropy to create a positive and enduring impact on the San Mateo County Coast. Notably, Mavericks Community Foundation in partnership with the City of Half Moon Bay and the SMCU Community Fund administered the Coastside Victims Fund last year, providing critical support to families and victims affected by the Half Moon Bay mass shootings. Of the $250,000 raised by the fund $17,000 was raised via the "tip jar" during the 2023 Coastside Gives Campaign.

Since 2016, Mavericks Community Foundation has hosted Coastside Gives, a day-long celebration of philanthropy on the San Mateo County coast. The 2024 Unity Stage at the Union Street Festival Lineup has arrived for this year's event on June 1st and 2nd. Situated at the intersection of Webster Street and Union Street, the Unity Stage promises an unforgettable experience. We encourage attendees to bring comfortable seating to enjoy the performances from our grassy hill, because you are going to want to hang out there all day with these bands! Live performances will be broadcasted on Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. Admission to Union Street Festival is Free.

In January 2019, the aircraft was repainted it to “YE OLDE PUB” in honor of the men who flew it in the skies of Germany.

Once in a while, you hear an old war story that restores your faith in humanity. Usually it involves a moment of quiet in the midst of chaos. But how many of them take place in mid air?

On December 20, 1943, two enemy pilots met in the skies over Germany - an American, Charlie Brown - and a German, Franz Stigler. What transpired would be called: “WWII’s most incredible aerial encounter.” The unlikely encounter between one of German’s leading fighter aces and the rookie crew of an American bomber in the frigid skies of Germany in December 1943 - upon engaging the already damaged American Plane, Stigler had mercy on his enemies and escorted them to safety.
