Today is the day of the
IMMIGRANT DEFENSE
BAKE SALE, so I went to drop my 12 dozen desserts for the event.

Jess was so busy, too busy to explain what the bake sale was for this amazing couple, so she asked if I would sit down & explain it to them.

I WAS HAPPY TO ASSIST.

I saw that they were patiently waiting w/a glass of wine.

Their daughter, who is vegan encouraged them to support this bake sale since they are both vegan, & at least 3 of the bakers at this event, baked vegan goods.

We got to talking. Beth shared she was a local, public teacher for over 20 years & Tim who previously worked for Homeland Security.

HE DOES NOT APPROVE OF ICE RN.

Once I explained to them that we were raising funds to donate to , a non-profit located in Southern California, that is assisting in deportation defense for those that need their services, they were totally on board! And happy to support the cause.

I LOVE this beautiful community in Ventura County, SOOO MUCH! I’m not only grateful to people like Beth & Tim, I’m so proud of how our community, but namely these small businesses got together.

We may not be part of the legislation, but we aren’t going to let that stop us fr. working to support the most vulnerable part of our community. This is the very definition of community! Getting together to help one another in times of need.

It’s almost 8 pm, so I’m expecting that in a few minutes I’m going to see a post fr either or or one of the 20+ bakers that contributed that we are sold out & broke our record for the past fundraising bake sale.

I’m so proud of our community that shared our posts, the small businesses that participated & the community that came to buy up all these yummy goodies!

Thank you to all the local influencers that came to share with their audiences what we are doing! And special thank you to. Buddy’s Wine Bar, Jess & to all the volunteers!

This wouldn’t happen without you!!!

Findings Market is the one market I probably look forward to the most & NOT just because I sell out each time I do it.

Life has been a roller coaster!

February started off on HIGH note with my Hubby’s 53rd Birthday Celebration in San Diego.

But it has been a very emotionally taxing.

Tomorrow is my Dad’s 81st Birthday. The first of my Dad’s birthday without him Earth-side.

Yes, I’m 45 years old, but this loss is one of the biggest of my life.

My Dad was my Best Friend. I have always been a Daddy’s Girl. Our relationship was never perfect, but I had a relationship with him that was enviable. That being said, losing him has rocked my World in ways I didn’t expect, but life goes on & so does business.

It has been so challenging trying to re-organize & re-format my business while simultaneously growing it, while healing & grieving.

IT IS A LOT.

There has been so much on my plate & saying “NO”, while taking things off my plate is a form of self-care that I’m learning, while unlearning unhealthy habits I’ve made along the way.

I AM NOT APOLOGIZING FOR DOING WHAT I HAVE TO DO & IF I AM THOUGHT TO BE RUDE, SO BE IT.

I just thought you should know, I’m just here being a human being & literally handling business.

HELLO LUMPIA LOVERS!!!

We have a very special treat for you!

One of my favorite all time bakeries is Porto’s, because, DUH, I’m Filipino.

If you’ve ever gone to Porto’s on a weekday, on a weekend, or during a holiday, you’ll see tons of Filipinos going in line and buying hundreds of dollars worth of Porto‘s baked goods.

One thing in particular that’s on their list, that they buy dozens and dozens and dozens of, is their cheese rolls and their guava rolls.

I have gone to Porto’s as late as Christmas Eve and I will stand in line and I know that for my own household, I’ve purchased about four or five dozen of these cheese rolls. And that’s just 1 of many items I buy.

My Husband, on his own, can eat a whole dozen for himself.

We haven’t had cheese rolls from Porto’s in a while, but I learned how to make them in a pinch, so I wanted to offer this to all of you!

I will be limiting the amount of cheese rolls that I will be offering. I’m probably only going to bake something like 25-30 dozen.

Pick up for these cheese rolls will be available on December 23-25th in the morning.

I’m taking orders now. Let me know because the cut off for orders will be on December 22nd 3 PM.

Hello Lumpia Lovers!!!

We will be at Portside for the Parade of Lights with Santa Claus!!!

❓PARADE OF LIGHTS - Portside

🗓️ FRIDAY, DECEMBER 13th 3:30 - 8:00PM

📍PORTSIDE VENTURA HARBOR - 1196 Portside Drive, Ventura Harbor, Ventura, CA 93003

The Market by the Sea Pop-Up starts at 3:30 & ends at 8 PM, but the Parade of Lights is 6-8:30 PM.

That being said, please arrive EARLY for parking and a great spot to watch the event.

Don’t forget there is also a giveaway happening, so please follow & follow the contest rules to enter.

We will have our own booth & we hope you’re ready to take photos with Santa!

Photos with Santa will be by donation, & we take our donations & use that money directly to benefit the community!

This year we have decided to partner up with a non-profit that works with local farm workers & their families.

We will create a separate post talking about that. And we are excited to share this new partnership because we hope it lasts for years to come!

So, save the date & be ready to come by on Friday, to say hello to us & sit on Santa’s lap!

Last time we ran out of food!!!

I did not expect that many people would be there. I knew there would be plenty, but it was ABSOLUTELY INSANE in the best possible way!

I met so many people… former and current clients, but also made a ton of new clients as well.

Many of the connections I made were so amazing & both my assistant & I had tons of fun!

I will continue to take names down for my 15th Anniversary Raffle & the winner(s) will be getting something really nice for the holidays for their table!

Come by & say “Hello” & grab a bite to eat!

Also, ourvery special guest, Santa Claus, will be at our booth 12-2 PM to make an early Christmas appearance.

Photos are free with purchases of $25 or more.

For those wanting photos with Santa will be a suggested donation of $10. A portion of our fees go to Food Share of Ventura County.
