NOW HIRING: Part-Time Housekeeper

Help keep OPAC ready for the next show! The Oxford Performing Arts Center is accepting applications for a dependable, detail-oriented Housekeeper to help maintain a clean and welcoming environment for our patrons and performers.

Duties include cleaning the theater, lobby, restrooms, and other public areas; removing trash; restocking supplies; and addressing cleaning needs before, during, and after performances.

This part-time, event-based position includes nights and weekends based on our performance calendar, a great opportunity for someone seeking supplemental income. Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience is preferred, but not required.

Today marks 10 years since Bob Lusk joined our team at OPAC, and I’m grateful to have him with us.

A retired police officer, Bob has logged countless miles getting our artists to and from the airports in Birmingham and Atlanta. He’s often their first welcome to Oxford and the last person to see them off, and he takes great care of them along the way. We couldn’t ask for a better person to represent our venue.

Congratulations on 10 years, Bob! Thank you for the care you put into your work and for making Oxford proud.

This month at OPAC is a big one, and it starts tonight!

October brings twelve performances to our stage, opening tonight with Dionne Warwick and the Atlanta Pops Orchestra String Ensemble. Broadway arrives with Jersey Boys and Mrs. Doubtfire, Motown legend Smokey Robinson brings the hits, and Jay Leno brings the laughs, with country, rock, and chamber music filling out the rest of the month.

We were thrilled to welcome Lightwire’s Tortoise and Hare to OPAC for three performances, including two near-capacity school shows this morning for students from Oxford and across the surrounding area.

All students, from all schools, attended this morning’s shows for free!
