Wow how has ten years flown by so fast? It is hard to believe I built a company that turned into something I could have never imagined. Thank you so much for the support from the vendors who have grown into not only friends but mentors along the way. The clients who have continuously trusted me and my staff with designing memorable events that last a lifetime. My staff for always standing by my side through the growth and believing in true grit and boldness. Lastly, my family and friends who supported me from the beginning and continue to support me through the crazy. I love you all and can’t wait to see where this party will lead the next ten years!

It is hard to believe that 10 years ago I bought a computer, created a logo, built a website and booked my very first event with Ellen Thomas Event Design. I lived with my sister and kept all of my business items on one shelf. I never would have dreamt that a spare bedroom and one shelf would turn into what it has today. Ten years of creating unforgettable moments, brining visions to life, and celebrating life’s most special occasions — and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, friends, staff, vendors, and clients. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the most amazing 10 years and I can’t wait for many more!!

We are excited to share that Nettie Taylor and Andrew’s special day is now featured on Inspired By This! The sentimental and family-oriented aspects woven into every part of this day and its design made it so memorable for our team.

We absolutely love fall weddings in Mississippi. They truly capture the magic of the Delta and the Southern charm we love to emphasize for guests to enjoy. Nettie Taylor dreamt of getting married at her parents’ home, where she spent her childhood growing up and making memories. What better way to personalize a wedding day than to invite guests to be a part of one of the most meaningful places in their lives? She loved the Southern feel of a cozy home and really wanted the day to feel like Father of the Bride.

We customized the design by leaning into neutral tones with wicker baskets, light floral linens, and rich green velvets. We brought the charm to life with organic, earthy florals that added just enough without overpowering the beauty of the home. It wouldn’t be a Southern wedding without incorporating a Delta station into the menu, complete with skinny fried catfish and Delta tamales! Another really special element was the mother of the bride making the bride’s cake. We surrounded the cake with silver and crystal pieces from her mom’s collection to be sure it felt like home.

Seeing this design come to life and watching Nettie Taylor and Andrew enjoy it fully, surrounded by family and friends, was such a pleasure! Every wedding is special to our team, but we especially loved watching this Southern dream unfold!

Ten years of creating unforgettable moments, bringing visions to life, and celebrating life’s most special occasions — and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, friends, staff, vendors and clients.
