I’m often asked, “Is having a videographer really that important for a wedding?” 🎥💍

And the truth is, I can’t answer that for you. Every couple has a different budget, different priorities, and different things that matter most to them.

But then I see something like this… ❤️

This couple shared their wedding video with their 3-year-old daughter, letting her watch the day her mommy and daddy got married—and her sweet little reaction brought her to tears of pure joy. 🥹

That’s when you realize what video can capture.

📸 Photos freeze the beautiful moments.
🎥 Video lets you relive them.

The voices. The laughter. The vows. The way you looked at each other. Your parents and grandparents dancing. The people you love exactly as they were in that moment.

And someday, you may get to share it with little people who weren’t even there yet. ❤️

How to Change Your Name in North Carolina

Congratulations! Now that the wedding is over, if you’re planning to change your last name, here’s a simple checklist to help you through the process.

STEP 1 — Get Your Certified Marriage Certificate

* Make sure your officiant has returned your completed marriage license to the Register of Deeds.
* Order 2–3 certified copies of your marriage certificate. Having extras can make the process easier.
* Keep one certified copy somewhere safe for your records.

Tip: A photocopy usually isn’t sufficient when an agency requires a certified marriage record.

STEP 2 — Update Social Security

Do this before changing your driver’s license.

* Update your name with the Social Security Administration.
* Have your certified marriage certificate and required identification available.
* Request a replacement Social Security card in your new name.

Your Social Security number stays the same—only your name changes.

STEP 3 — Update Your North Carolina Driver’s License

After Social Security has updated your record:

* Allow approximately 24–36 hours before visiting NCDMV.
* Bring the required identification and your certified marriage certificate.
* Request a replacement driver’s license showing your new name.

North Carolina requires you to notify NCDMV of a name change within 60 days.

STEP 4 — Update Your Passport

* Update your U.S. passport if you’ll be using your new name for travel.
* Check which passport application you’ll need based on when your current passport was issued.

Travel Tip: If your honeymoon reservations and airline tickets are booked in your maiden name, don’t rush to change your identification before traveling. The name on your airline reservation should match the identification you’ll use to travel.

STEP 5 — Update Everything Else

Once your primary identification is changed, work through the rest:

* Employer & payroll
* Bank accounts
* Credit & debit cards
* Vehicle registration/title
* Auto insurance
* Health insurance
* Homeowners/renters insurance
* Mortgage or lease
* Voter registration
* Doctors & medical records
* Utilities
* Retirement & investment accounts
* Student loans
* Professional licenses
* TSA PreCheck/Global Entry
* Airline & hotel loyalty programs
* Memberships & subscriptions
* Wills, trusts & beneficiary information
