When Danielle first called, she had one simple request. She wanted our help so that her loved ones could simply be there in the moment with her. Not to lift a finger, not to stay behind to clean up, just to celebrate.

At SB, that kind of request is our love language. We handled the coordination and décor so Danielle & Zach could focus on being fully present.

The night before the wedding, the makeup artist canceled. We immediately reached out to our vendor friends, and Beauty by Abbie G kindly rearranged her morning to make room for Danielle. By the time she left that chair, she was glowing inside and out.

Their day was full of thoughtful, personal touches. From the road-trip ceremony at Garden of the Gods to the cozy reception at White Chateau, every choice reflected who they are.

Danielle’s “boho without the feathers” vision came to life with amber glass, soft textures, and our peacock chairs, Tia and Tamera, framing the sweetheart table. Seeing Danielle radiant in the peacock chair, a timeless emblem of Black pride and beauty, felt like poetry in motion.

The couple took part in a Jumping the Broom ceremony, a tradition rooted in African American history that represents sweeping away the past and stepping into a new life together. They donated their broom to Something Borrowed so other couples could honor the same tradition. You can now reserve it on our site, free of charge.

Before their own first dance, Danielle & Zach invited several couples who had played a role in their journey to share a dance of their own.

After cutting their cake, Danielle and Zach naturally began cutting it for everyone else, caring for their guests the way they care for everyone in their lives.

And for their sendoff, dried flower confetti made the perfect eco-friendly finale.

It was a Thursday wedding filled with warmth, heart, and history, and we could not be more grateful to have been a part of it. 🤍
