Had a weekend at the Made for KC BBQ contest! Tho we missed our goal of winning the contest - congrats 👉 Smokey Bey's Barbecue for that great performance - we did have a bit of luck on our side with 2x 11th place finishes in pork and brisket which were tagged with "wild child" placements and captured a healthy stack of cash! Thanks Weekend Bum BBQ for organizing the children and congrats on RGC - great cookin!

Back and rehydrating from Downtown Excelsior Springs at the 26th BBQ & Fly In on the River contest! Finished middle of the pack 49th of 83 teams although we scored above our average in all categories. Bigger competitions are like that and the Fly In is a great one packed with super star teams. We ran an experiment with ALDI USA pork shoulders, and while it was well received 'twas not victorious.

Got to enjoy a fine fireworks show friday night while enjoying some cooler breezes late into the eve.

Good to meet ya and Congrats to my neighbors Bull in the Ring BBQ on their top 10 finish and better than expected ribs, and to Triple H BBQ on their capture of the overall championship!

Local Price Chopper stopped carrying Sanderson Farms Chicken bone in thighs so we're rolling rando's to the competition this weekend!
Suspect they may be the last of the and will be sorely missed for their consistency and award-winningness.
