Last year, Eventfully Yours KC was invited to be part of the UMKC's Match Day. To be honest, I wasn’t exactly sure what Match Day was, so I Googled it.
Here’s what I found: “Match Day is a critical annual milestone in U.S. medical education, typically occurring on the third Friday of March, where graduating medical students simultaneously learn their residency program placements. It’s the culmination of months of interviews and ranking, signaling where they will train for the next three to seven years.”
I was thrilled to be part of such an important day, but experiencing it in person was something else entirely. Watching students (and their families) open their envelopes and discover where their journey is taking them next was emotional, exciting, and unforgettable.
And yes, I definitely shed a few tears. 💙
This year, we were incredibly fortunate to celebrate alongside both UMKC’s St. Joseph campus and Kansas City campus!
To all of the hardworking students and their families we say congratulations and best of luck in this next chapter of your journey. Your dedication and perseverance are truly inspiring.
Thank you, UMKC, for allowing us to be a small part of such an incredible day.
